Probably because if they didn't they would be let go.

Exactly.

So, I was wondering how it's going to work for you if the Blazers pay you now for missed games and the season is restarted sometime after June 1st. Will you get paid again for actually doing the game or would they be expecting you to do the game for no additional money even though the dough that they gave you is long gone?

Exactly.

Was JUST having this conversation with the guy that sits next to me during the games. No idea. Seems weird to be paid TWICE huh? Do you think NBA teams have catastrophe insurance? Is that the pool they are paying us out of?

No idea on that other than most catastrophe insurance seems to have weasel words that exempt covering "acts of god". Is the Coronavirus an act of god? My guess is that Jody Allen is covering it because she thinks it's the right thing to do.

I've been curious about that, too. With so many people expecting to be paid while there's no work to do and the company has little to no revenue stream (not talking about just the NBA, teachers would also be included), will they feel similarly compelled to "pay it forward" when there's extra work later?

Denny is cutting you picnickers on his front estate lawn. Then he'll get to the moderator freeloaders camping on the back hill behind the castle.

According to 2K20, a simulation of the rest of the 2019-20 NBA season from where it left off, the Blazers ended up making the playoffs only to be swept by the Lakers. The Lakers went on to face and lose to the 76ers in the finals.
Wow!
That has OKC and the Jazz playing a 7 game series and then the Thunder rolling by the Clippers only to get smoked by the Lakers?
Dallas Sweeping Denver?
How about the Bucks losing bad to the Celtics?

Nope! Not in the real world.

So, it looks like the best shot to get the season going anytime soon would be to bring all of the teams together, maybe in Vegas, keep them in a bubble where everyone is screened and has minimal contact with the outside world, and play the games without crowds. That sucks, but it's starting to sound pretty good to me right now. No sports sucks worse.

They need a month or so of training camps too... Can you imagine the injuries that are going to occur if they bring guys in cold after being stuck in their homes for however long this goes on. Obviously the very well paid guys can afford their private gyms but many of them can't.

True. I don't see this starting before late May or early June, at best.

The Park MGM is right by the arena and they could house the whole operation. I think whatever league makes something like that work will see the highest ratings ever for their games.

After Seattle..... I don’t think the NBA/silver wants any teams re-locating

That’s what I been saying. Look how hard they fought for Sacramento to keep their team. Unless your literally drawing no fans to the games and play in a dump of an arena no team will move again after the sonics fiasco
