I so hope we get Preperation H or Trojan or something else phenominally stupid.
So how much is the NBA making off this?
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/1...illion-20-million-per-year-jersey-advertisingThe Golden State Warriors are asking for $15 million to $20 million per year for the rights for a company to put its logo on their jersey starting in the 2017-18 season, sources told ESPN.
The NBA recently approved a three-year pilot program to allow teams to sell 2½-inch by 2½-inch patches on the upper left of jerseys, opposite what will be a swoosh from Nike, which will begin its deal as the league's official apparel-maker after the 2016-17 season.
Only one club has consummated a deal since the league allowed teams to start doing business in mid-May. The Philadelphia 76ers' three-year deal with StubHub is worth $5 million a year, according to sources.
Warriors want advertisers to pay up to $20M for jersey patch

Since Seattle doesn't have a team, might it be a sponsor from there instead of just Portland?
What would be cool is if the jerseys with ads were $20 cheaper then the jerseys w/o ads that they sell in the fan shop. The focus of putting ads on jerseys should be a way to benefit the fans instead of the owners. They won the lottery with the new TV contract, they don't need the jersey ad revenue.
an interesting thought...if some teams are getting 20MM plus, this will raise the salary cap disproportionately to the teams that receive less
well, i was just kinda musing, but if the revenue goes into the nba revenue pot, then that will affect the salary cap for all teams, even though one team might net 4x as much actual revenue from the ads.I don't believe that revenue is counted towards the cap. If that were the case an owner like Paul Allen could have a special bar in the arena that charges $100k per drink, he could go in there, buy 10 drinks a game and raise the team's salary cap by $20mill a season.

not sure if this makes sense.
I just want PA to buy me a $100,000 drink.
For all the hate this gets I doubt fans care in a few years. Look at Timbers jerseys; where's the outrage over the Alaska Airlines logo?
I'd wear one but I don't work for Alaskan Airlines.Plus, "soccer," lol...That's the whole reason I'll never buy one.I'd wear one but I don't work for Alaskan Airlines.
MODA CENTER....it's our home now..deal with it. Doesn't bother me at all.
The sponsor patch will not appear on the retail versions of the player jerseys but teams will have the option to sell the jerseys with sponsor patches in their own retail outlets.
Cool but you know the majority of those sponsors are going to demand that teams do sell them with the ads on them as part of the deal. At least the ones in the NBA store won't have them though.
I haven't heard this mentioned before but all teams share the ad money generated. So even if the Warriors get 20 MIL a year then they still split that with the other teams. So really not much incentive to go crazy on asking price if you are only keeping 1/30th of it. The 76ers (who admittedly suck) only got 5 MIL a year but they are the only team that has actually signed a deal so far.
This guy at ESPN needs to get on the same page then: https://twitter.com/calvinwatkinsEach team keeps half of the revenue they generate from the jersey patch and the other half goes to the league’s revenue-sharing pool for all teams.
Montero would get that Mitsubishi money though. How crazy would it be then if individual players could start getting sponsored like Nascar and Boxing. Imagine the difference in real estate price from LeBron's jersey vs Luis Montero!
