Just hope the greedy owners realize they can make even more money if they approve this. They say they project Seattle and Vegas to be in the top 8 money-making markets. I can't wait for the Sonics and Blazers rivalry again. My first game was in 1989 to watch Clyde and crew go against Kemp and Payton and posse.

I want to see if I can find that game or bits of if it on YouTube. Any helpers?

I'm very mehhhhh on expansion ... owners that want a short term cash infusion should be all for it but it also means more competition for winning and long term a loss in cash for each owner. If I'm Tom Dundon, I'd think I'd want to vote no on this as it keeps the Seattle market open to dangle in front of Blazer fans and the politicians to remind them there is a pretty easy move that could be made. Take Seattle off the board and that's a major chess piece gone as I doubt Kansas City or Nashville are as appealing of destinations for an NBA team.

If the new teams bring in more than 1/30th of additional revenue it won't be a loss in cash for current owners long term.

Although the NBA can only add a 31st and 32nd team once - so if they think an expansion fee would be much more years from now that would be a better reason to hold off.

I'm betting expansion gets approved - I can't imagine the NBA goes to the trouble of announcing these public votes if the plan was to not do it. Silver is competent enough to count 30 votes.

I like the idea of Durant playing his final year for the Sonics.

Yes the Portland Seattle rivalry was very cool.

Also they need to 100% remove any mention of sonics record or activities being tied to OKC. Makes me cringe whenever I heard some "franchise" OKC stat that includes games before 2008.
