At the least, I'm expecting some cost cutting moves.

You are obviously happy with mediocrity... that was a cute little run we had lat year before getting swept by Warriors again. Probably the worst thing that could’ve happened to this franchise because it temporarily covered the flaws of this roster. Blazers will never get near that success again in Dames prime if Neil wastes Whiteside expiring contract. He will not re sign here to be a backup to a player he is arguably better than. Also, the Warriors will be back next season, and with a top 5 pick to trade. Purgatory
Technically we still have a roster spot available for Bolden until one of Skal/Collins/Nurk comes back because of the Hood DPE. I have a feeling one or both of Mario and/or Caleb will be dumped today anyway. Not exactly free, we'd have to waive or find a place for Caleb/Mario/etc to open up a spot ourselves.
Miami's going to owe 3 Unprotected 1sts over the next 5 years, not exactly smart considering they aren't close to winning a title still.Look at the return Miami got for all their bad contracts from 2016... and then realize Neil will have nothing to show for his when he doesn’t trade Whiteside and he walks at end of year
When Whiteside leaves at end of year, will you admit that Neil is a con artist that only cares about being good enough to sell tickets. If Whiteside re-signs will you promise to start using only one handle from now on?
Since 2012 they've had 2 years below .500 and 3 years with 50+ wins that maybe isn't elite but it's not mediocrity. I want a championship too and have wanted changes but purgatory is Orlando, Phoenix, Sacramento, not teams that are fairly consistently in the playoffs. You are obviously happy with mediocrity... that was a cute little run we had lat year before getting swept by Warriors again. Yeh, I got fooled too.Whered you hear that?
I disagree... they might be best defensive team in league... they definitely have a chance to win a title. So what if they gave up 3 picks in the 20-30 range.Miami's going to owe 3 Unprotected 1sts over the next 5 years, not exactly smart considering they aren't close to winning a title still.
Cool story bro... over half the league makes the playoffs every year... the Blazers are the epitome of mediocre.Since 2012 they've had 2 years below .500 and 3 years with 50+ wins that maybe isn't elite but it's not mediocrity. This team is completely wrecked by injuries. Last year's team may have slightly over-achieved to get to the WCF's but they did it and won 52 + 1(sac) games in the process, without their 2nd best player, and their back up center having a separated shoulder, they got wrecked on the boards vs GS too.Cool story bro... this dean is the epitome of mediocre.
I see zero chance of any of those happening.in OLSHEY we Trust!
something’s coming....
a) a Whiteside extension?
b) a CJ trade?
c) an Ariza trade
d) a Whiteside / CJ trade to Minny for Townsend and pick?
I don’t see much happening outside of a, b, or c above
I'd do anything for love, but I won't do that!Would you do Nurk for Love?
Neil is sleeping
No, people want a trade to use Whiteside’s contract to gain another big money asset to have in future, else we lose another asset for nothing. Think a little.Just to confirm. People want a trade to maybe move from 9th to 8th, to play the Lakers, when the team is getting Nurkic and Collins back, then Rodney Hood next year. DO IT NEIL
CJ + Simons + unprotected picks? I think his value is lower than it might ever be.KAT is an elite player. He’s not going anywhere and if he does it’ll take a HUGE haul to get him.
That was the first thing that came to my mind too and I would definitely do that. Would probably be A LOT of picks.CJ + Simons + unprotected picks? I think his value is lower than it might ever be.
He has taken a huge risk when other teams wouldn't with signing Melo.

Sure, done deal. If we can manage to get KAT without trading Dame or Nurk, I will never ever criticize Neil again.Wouldn’t CJ + Collins and picks would make more sense for both sides?
