Minny getting off of the Wiggins deal that easily while getting a good PG is impressive.

We are probably shipping Swanigan for cash too. Then signing players for minimum.

I will say this if NeO can trade Mario for even a late round second that will be a win in my book watching him on the court is kind of painful atm.

C’mon Neil, Skal > Biggie

Sure, if he can play. Somehow, I suspect Neil has a better handle on the likelihood of Skal returning to the court this season. If he can't play this season, why would you want to pay the tax on him?

Biggie’s prob gone too

Atlanta was in a unique position to use capspace in order to absorb players. They just took Skal and some other dude from the Clippers into that space. Now, the only reason they would even agree to pay these guys the rest of the year is if they actually wanted to take a look at the player. Now, tell me which player you would want between Skal and Biggie? That's why Skal is gone and Biggie isn't.

There's no other team in the league that has cap space anymore, so dumping Biggie for nothing is not available anymore.

So losing Skal is the reason we won't make the 8th spot? I was thinking getting Nurkic and Collins back would be more impactful, especially since Skal hasn't been playing lately and we have more than held our own.

No, I didn't intend to equate the two. I just think best case scenario is the 8th seed and a Lakers sweep.

They have essentially traded Crowder for Winslow. The other pieces don’t really matter. As long as Winslow is healthy they might do well.
Didn't also get Johnson that decent player and Waiter when not in trouble he can have some decent games.

Yeah that doesn't look like a good trade but maybe Golden State knows something we don't. Plus they get a top 3 protected pick in 2021.

Chris Haynes says it was us that gave up cash to get off the Skal deal.

Golden State is thinking that Wiggins is exactly the wing they need next year when Curry and Thompson return. Russell is redundant. And they get a lottery 1st?

Fully acknowledge that Wiggins will be a good contributor in that lineup in GS, but that was supposed to be a toxic contract.
Yeah next year 'if' Klay and Steph can get back to where they were that starting line up is going to be pretty good. Steph, Klay, Wiggins, Draymond, Looney(?).

Help me understand

Skal salary is 2.3M
We sent him along with 2M, so a savings of 300k*2 (600k).

Is that really it? WTF?
Skal's salary was really 4.8 because of the luxury tax. We sent 2 million in the deal so savings is 2.8.

Skal suffered an articular cartilage lesion, which is what started Oden's exit from the NBA. I certainly hope that Skal's injury isn't as significant, but cutting his salary, and the tax on it, for a guy who probably can't play the rest of the season is a perfectly logical move.

Must be that bad. Only way that move is reasonable
