While we're throwing out how incompetent the Blazers GM is.
I'm going to point out the fact that he didn't even try to get a meeting with LeBron James.
I mean Portland could have had LeBron! damn you Neil.

The quality of the shit-posting has really gone downhill lately. I blame the mods.

Neil did meet with LeBron when he was a free agent...

Back in 2010 when Neil was with the Clippers and LeBron chose Miami.

"He'll underwent"

When does this this take place again?
Or did it already?

Maybe it's like ya'll..... meaning "you all."

So "he all" underwent. It was all of him that underwent surgery.

I might be wrong, but my understanding was that we met with Parsons right after midnight. So I'm not sure what transpired before that, but I think Neil decided that flying out to NY to meet with Whiteside was a waste of time.
Yes you are right. It was before. He was our number 1 target

This is totally a guess, but I think it was pretty obvious that Whiteside was leveraging Dallas to force Miami into maxing him (which they didn't want to do.) Neil probably knew this, didn't want any part of it, and chose to spend his time chasing free agents that might actually sign.

I had actually heard from someone in the Dallas organization that they believed Whiteside had real interest in listening to us anyway.

I don't think a soon to be multi-millionaire guy would choose to leave south beach for hiking trails.

We have three first round draft picks. I hope his team picks Juwan Evans Oklahoma State (point guard) 19ppg, 3 rebounds, .441FG%. Johnathon Motley PF from Baylor 17 ppg, 9 rebounds .518FG% 6'9" 232lbs and Miles Bridges SF/PF 6'5"226lbs from Michigan State 16ppg,8 Rebounds.481 FG %

Some of you are saying Robb pisses and moans about the loss of his job.

I am unable to listen to the whole show everyday, but I do listen every day and other than the couple of days after, I haven't heard a word from him about it.
I think he is getting an unfair whiners rap in here...
I personally dig the shit out of him and Zuke. They both speak their mind and don't sugar coat. And they are seriously funny, even when not trying to be.

This is not Isaac Robb. He would bring more to the table and be more entertaining than this.

Robb and Zuke.....

Clearly you are a huge fan of the show.

That was the impression I got at the time: That Whiteside was our number one target, it appeared he was leveraging other teams, and we deduced we couldn't beat Miami's deal, so we made an offer to Parsons.

He wasn't our number 1 target. Whiteside was. Parsons may have been our number 1 realistic option, but no way would Neil have rather had him than Whiteside. The problem was we couldn't offer Whiteside as much as MIA could. We could only go up to $94 million (with 9.9% state income tax) compared to MIA at $98 million (with no state income tax).

I really think the NBA needs to equalize all contracts with regard to state income tax in the next CBA. States with warmer, sunnier weather, like FL and TX, already have an advantage, and when you add on no state income tax, it makes teams in those states much more likely to land top free agents. After tax salaries should be used for salary cap and luxury tax purposes. As it is, they playing field is not level and I thought that was the purpose of having a salary cap in the first place, to keep certain teams from just spending more than other teams to buy up all the top talent. As it is, the system is unfair and favors teams in certain markets over others.

Well...that's certainly consistent with what Whiteside said.

Absolutely, but that doesn't have anything to do with what I hear vs what people say he is saying does it?

Im simply stating, I have not heard him talk about it aty all when I have them on, other than the first day or two after it happened, which was what 3 weeks ago?

Jesus, F'ing christ..

Like they spell their names out on the radio.
Don't lynch me now because I typed Robb(cause thats what it sounds like on the radio)

And I always thought Jason's name had a Z in it. Again. This is audio, not TV where you see their names.

Holy cow...Guess I cant possibly be a fan... sorry...

Just going by who we met with first

Eh, I don't think that necessarily means anything. They could have reached out to Whiteside's agent before the moratorium lifted and determined that it was a waste of time to meet with him.
