He was a restricted free agent. That is almost never a good indication of how other teams view a player unless there is one team willing to overpay to get him. Not many teams needed a center or were willing to offer an amount high enough to where the Blazers wouldn't match.

This is mostly opinion, but also pretty well understood facts to people who watch more than one team in the nba. Doesn’t mean I don’t like him, but his contract reflects his value accurately. You mightily underrated his defense. He's a top 5 rim protector in the league that averaged something like 20ppg per 36 on 55% shooting over the 2nd half of the year.

Nurk is young and has a lot of upside. Hopefully, he becomes more consistent... I think we can all agree on that.

I think his contract reflects the monetary environment more than his "value." Ditto for Biebs and ET (except just the other way )
