Nets and Blazers agree to a sign-and-trade

Good move. Since you guys only used the $5 million trade exception, you still have most of the MLE to spend on FA. I don't know how much Cliff Robinson took, but assuming he took a veteran's minimum for about $1.7 million per season there's still about $3.3 million left.

I think the nets are still a ways from being NBA Champs but not far as long as they can get a consistant bigman off the bench and a consistant shooter then the the nets should be straight.

uh...I wouldnt get your hopes to high either. NJ wins the division in a runaway. Yall were barely better than us wen we where injured so now we healthy and have SAR to go along wit da big 3 so good luck making the 6 or 7 seed in an Eastern Conference that is improved from last year.

This is great news. Hopefully, we can get Dooling and maybe a cheap, but consistent big man. My hopes are for Reggie Evans, but the price tag may be too high and Seattle would probably match.

Realistically, you only have the financial flexibility to grab one good player to come off the bench. If Thorn can get his hands on Dooling that will be awesome because he'll make a nice backup to Jason Kidd.

I don't think we used the MLE on Cliff. I think because he took a Vets minimum we got him for the LLE or something else. I think we'll be able to get Dooling and someone else for the MLE. Depending on how cheap Dooling comes will decide who else we get. My guesses would be eithet Traylor, Songaila or Allen.

I don't think he'll come cheap, and I know Cleveland really wants him. It would be interesting to see him with the Nets though, playing with Vince after that disagreement between the two last year lol.

You have to be kiddin me. With AI bein selfish they arent goin anywhere close to the Finals i can tell you that rite now. I suggest you think about that before sayin the Nets wont be champions

I agree after Dooling, Watson, and Mighty Mouse the point guard list gets very mediocore. Duhon isnt mediocore but the chamces of him leaving the comfort role he has with the Bulls is slim to none. And Jason Williams is a considerable risk coming off the motorcycle accident, so that only leaves you with guys like Blake, Palacio etc those guys dont really impress me as guys that would fit into a role that would make us a better team. I rather go with a combo guard like Jon Barry, we wont gain much as far as him being a natural creator that you would like at the pg spot. But he adds the much needed shooting that we need. And his ablity to play both spots means that Ron Mercer would not have an important role on this team cause Barry would take away his minutes, which is a good thing.

Carter/Barry/
Jefferson/Wright/

Our backcourt rotation something like that....

Kidd...35 minutes per game
Carter....35-38 minutes per game
Jefferson...35-40 minutes per game
Wright......15-20 minutes per game
Barry....15 minutes per game

Jacque Vaughn used in special situation when a natural point guard is need and Kidd is resting like end of the quarter situations when coach Franks want to use a special play or when Coach Franks needs him to match up against quicker point guards on the ball.

And Mercer spends most of the year on IR and is an insurance guard who can fill in for some bench minutes if one of the wings go down.
