Yes, the person behind is nearly always at fault. You'd have to say that the car in front was backing up for it to be the other way around.
That is tragic, but I'm glad everyone made it out alive. RIP your Les Paul. I recently had a friend break the headstock off my Les Paul I was letting him borrow. White and gold. Not gonna lie, I she'd a tear when he told me.Christmas eve...late 70s...I had just bought another 300 dollar Dodge Dart while my truck was in the shop to get to a gig...couldn't transfer the insurance on a holiday, risked it because the gig was important and drove it anyway ...sure enough going about 58 in the slow lane on I 80 west around Sacramento I look in the rear view mirror and see two long ribbons of light....drunk driver hit me in the trunk (filled with instruments) ...pushed my car like a slingshot down the road...totaled..completely..steering wheel like a pretzel in my hands..band members bleeding in the back seat...dazed I remember a highway patrolman giving me a breath test...didn't even tow the car off the road or offer assistance..drunk driver went to jail...he was clocked at 136 in the slow lane. Hired a lawyer for more than the car cost and the guy surrendered his license and I just lost the whole shebang ….Merry Xmas story of my life. Also instilled a lifelong hatred for drunk drivers. Good old steel Dodge Dart trunk probably saved our lives that night. Lost a really nice black and gold Les Paul Custom and of course...the gig
I'm not gonna lie, I'm shedding a tear right now. Oh, people, people, not that way, I'm dicing onions. That is tragic, but I'm glad everyone made it out alive. RIP your Les Paul. That sucks man. Glad that worked out for you. Ya, it's always a bit nerve racking when you get a used car. I'm lucky that my brother is a mechanic on the vehicle i was purchasing. Took it to him and he hooked his super computer up to it and everything came back perfect. Is your new car a hybrid? In November, we had that one really stormy Saturday night with a heavy downpour. At the time, I was driving a 2006 Chevy Cobalt. I was heading back from Beaverton around midnight, and visibility was tough. I crossed the Marquam, took the off-ramp for 84 East, and as I passed under Grand, I hit a few feet of water that had pooled up due to a blocked drain. Didn't see it until I got to it. The water was up above the wheels, so I was stuck. Shorted out the electronics, but I got super lucky as a guy with a truck was next to me and had a line. He hooked me up through the hood and under my car, and dragged me over to the right shoulder a little ways up. Then I watched a few other cars do the same thing, including a poor little smart car. I was able to get the police out there, and while i waited for a tow, we helped push a few cars and block off the water.
So my search was on for a new car. I really liked the way my old car had held up (until I ruined it), so I decided to stick with Chevrolet. Even better, I looked around for a Cruze, which replaced the Cobalt. I found a 2016 edition at Dick Hannah that I thought was priced fairly and had lower mileage. Got it within a week of the accident. Boy, was I in for a surprise. Test drive went fine. Drive home went fine. Next morning, as I drove to work, it began to hesitate at idle and the engine light came on. Off to the service center. I was given a super rental car, and then the next day got mine back. Same thing happened yet again. Luckily, I was still under the exchange timeline, and I took it back and decided to explore other options.
Ended up with a 2017 Hyundai Elantra. This car has been nothing but solid so far, and I've really been enjoying it. It was kinda nice to go from a car that still had manual windows and not a lot of features to satellite radio, seat warmers, collision/blind spot detection, dual transmission, etc. It all worked out, but I went through a horrible stretch of luck in November.
A November to remember.
My memories will not be so fond.Cedar Hills and Walker road.
Ah memories-- my neck of the woods.
God, this makes me feel better.I rear-ended someone while driving from Ft. Campbell, KY back to the car lot in Clarksville, TN with the final paperwork.
STRIKE 7!I use Mrs HCP for all my body work.
Really FAMS! After everything that happened between me and your wife.....this is how you are going to roll? How are my kids by the way? #BAMWell played.![]()
I worked at Tek near there for many years. Later I used that little grade school converted to a Parks Dep't. building (Cedar Hills Recreation Center) to get my aerobic exercise doing step bench aerobics and weight lifting. The parks dep't. building is right across Cedar Hills Blvd. from Cedar Park Middle School.Cedar Hills and Walker road.

I had my first car stolen twice in one week. They ripped out the dashboard and stole my brand new car CD player when it was stolen the first time and abandoned in NE Portland.
So, I paid the fines and towing fees to have the car released to me. I repaired the damage done to the dash and did not buy another car CD player. In fact it didn't have a radio or cassette player. I also had my car rekeyed.
About a few days later the car was gone again. And again it was abandoned in NE Portland. They also ripped out my dashboard for a second time. However, there was no reason to do that since I did not have a radio/cassette/cd system in the car. And to top it all off I had to pay fines and towing fees for a second time.
Sold the car a couple of days later.
Man that's the worst. Never had one stolen (knock on wood), but broken into a ton.I had a Chevy Blazer 2wd low rider stolen twice. Once on the night of my bachelor party in front of Lung Fung restaurant on 82nd and Powell as my fiance at the time was having her bachelorette party there as they had a ball room where concerts played at and I stopped by on my way home and was in the parking lot a few feet away from my car. All of a sudden a chick jumps into it and drives off hitting bottom and driving like she was a Nascar driver. The next time was in front of my house. The funny part is that my brother in law saw the car being driven on i-84 and watched the Blazer take the Gateway exit. He though nothing of it as I had mentioned I was thinking of selling it. That next day I get a call from the police saying they found the car abandoned near Gateway shopping center and if I pick it up they won't call for a tow and cause all sorts of fees to rack up which I thought was cool.

UPDATE as if anybody cares:
But after the car sat at the bodyshop for 10 days waiting on an inspection from Allstate, I took it to social media and kinda' put 'em on blast. No joke got a reply from them 2 minutes later and a phone call 5 minutes later from the head guy in the region apologizing for the delay. Sent somebody out first thing this morning and said they were waiving our $500 deductible because of the inconvenience. Win-Win for TPFKATHCP! Who says all social media is bad?
Loved them Blazers! And I remember Lung Fungs, great food.I had a Chevy Blazer 2wd low rider stolen twice. Few grand. How much is the repair estimate?
Thanks man. I will pass this along.I care and for the Love of all things holy....make sure the shop knows you want it right and not fast. The only words most shop production managers know are hurry faster and today.
I'm with you. My car was never stolen but it was broken into twice. Actually, while I was still married to my first wife, she had a secret boyfriend who took it and her on a joy ride. That was about 45 years ago and to this day I'd like to break his nose.Man that's the worst. Never had one stolen (knock on wood), but broken into a ton.

I always went to either The New Republic or Hung Far Lo's in Chinatown. They both served excellent Tomato Beef Chow Yuk with Chinese pea pods.Loved them Blazers! And I remember Lung Fungs, great food.
I'd really really really like to see your rear frame rails if you were hit from behind at that speed. Our silver Camry has been hit several times, none of them were our fault, and all three were just stupid. First time, some idiots sitting in front of my wife at a stoplight, put the car into reverse and backed into her. Still not sure why. Luckily they didn’t try to contest it or it would have been hard to prove that we were't at fault. We got a dash cam after that one. Second time, I was sitting at a light on TV Highway and an older guy in an SUV plowed into the back of the Camry going 35-40 mph. That didn't really feel good. They should have totaled the car..... but they didn't. Last time, my wife and I were walking out of Fred Meyer and we watched some dumbass chick back into our parked car.
I thought silver was supposed to be easy to see....... but alas, three times we were hit by morons.

I'll drive the car to Vegas for you and @bodyman5000 and 1 will fix it.

Not surprised at all. Glad it got taken care of.Our lawyer had a guy take a look at them. The dealer didn't fix it right the first time and then we had another company fix it.
But yeah.... it was like 14k in repairs. I don't know why they didn't total it.
