Full agreement. Unfortunately Selig got caught up in all the "Chicks dig the long ball" hoopla like the rest of us, even crediting McGwire & Sosa HR chase of 98 for saving the game.

Everyone looked the other way.... MLB, owners, players, fans and media. Selig is no more guilty than ESPN or guys playing fantasy baseball. No one was asking questions until big records started to fall.

I pointed at Selig because he was the biggest hypocrite. The guy went from treating the McGwire / Sosa HR chase like it was the greatest thing since the moon landing to going strong after the players that got accused of using PEDs.

Bud was clueless....Mr. Magoo at best.

LMAO, Kim calls me Mr. Magoo, do you think we can use a better caricature for the Moron Selig, the one man who is as much responsible for stealing a World Series from us 1 year. Selig should of been lynched a long time ago. How about Bullwinkle, or Huckleberry Hound dog?

I guess it's good I cut back from my pot of coffee a day habit to ~1/2 a pot of coffee a day...

That is Honorable Hammer.....

At my best or worst, for approximately 10 years, I drank (no shit) 3 pots of coffee a day in that decade.

I had a Stanley brand Thermos, that held 1 full pot, plus 2 cups. I would drink it from 4am, to lunch (11am), I'd go home with a 2nd pot already waiting, refill my Thermos, go back to work, and take enough fresh ground beans to work, and make a 3rd pot of coffee at 1 pm (at work). I put 5pm as my cutoff point to stop drinking coffee.

Of course I have had Hypertension since I was 27, 3+ decades ago. Once I retired, I took my watch off my wrist, have NOT worn one since, and went cold turkey with Coffee. The best way I found to replace or rehab from Coffee Caffeine withdrawls, was to wake up to a Cup of Orange Juice, and it was nothing to drink a entire gallon of OJ, in the course of a day. Now, I'll drink no more than 1 or 2 cups of Java, only on morns I have to do something. In other words, it takes me hours to wake up fully functional.

HOLY CRAP!

...I gotta have my coffee beans in the morning...2 BIG cups gets me going.

HOLY CRAP!

That's what my Dr. said, when I got back here from the South.....

Even with NO or little Caffeine, My blood pressure is still always on the fringe of High. High is my Norm, regardless of taking Hypertension Meds.

Over sedation of High Blood Pressure meds:, seems there is no middle ground for me, either I'm way to low, and over sedated, (which is as worrisome), than being on the verge of High....= 149/98, with meds. At the doc yesterday, my blood pressure with a max of Blood Pressure Meds, was 168/110, now that is flat out ridiculous, with NO caffeine. To the polar opposite:, over sedation and can't stand up.

As well Family Genetics: 4 Uncles, with 6 Aunts***, all who passed early before 60, with Heart Attacks. NTM-my Little Brother, at one week into the age of 37, had his fatal heart attack, way way too young....

*** equals Paternal and Maternal...!

I still swear their is no better a aroma, than Fresh Ground Coffee Beans in the AM. Some of my hands down Favs: Guatemalan, Costa Rican, and Columbian.....not to dark a roast either....!:morningtime:

I never could develop a taste for coffee. "I've got to have me my spot-a- tea every morning & another before me nap".

...believe it or not, I have a brother in law that won't touch fresh brewed coffee....he insists on instant.

...can you believe that shit?

Instant Coffee over Fresh Brewed, now that's like preferring cat piss over a good wine....LOL. no disrespect to your Bro in Law 59....That's funny I gotta' say.....even My Wife and Son who never have drank coffee, or rather tried a cup & didn't like it, still love the smell of fresh ground Coffee Beans....

Agreed!

My bride & I love French Roast too...

My favorite mainstream brand is Green Mountain, but unfortunately, their coffee is hard to find bagged... It's calm exclusively the k cup...

...^^^...it's OK, he also puts ketchup on his eggs...and eats a hamburger with a knife and fork.

...My younger Brother is really into buying "green" coffee beans, roasting them himself, grinding them himself, and brewing the coffee a certain way at a certain temperature. He buys green Guatemalan, Arabica, Columbian beans, etc from some company out of the country.
...it's a lot of trouble but man, the coffee is the best I've ever had...whenever I go down to Florida to visit him he always grinds me 5 pounds or so to bring back with me...of course with us, t's kind of a "trade off" thing because I return the favor by taking him veggies that I've grown and green peanuts when they are in season.

OK... I was talking about the brand though... Green Mountain & Keurig are owned by the same company, so I understands why, I just don't like it...

I don't know if I soul be able to roast my own beans... Grind them, sure... Do that from time to time already, but roast? Wow

...^^^yeah, I kinda shake my head as I watch him go through his routing for making it but like I said it's some great coffee...and different roasts too. (light, dark, medium, etc)

...I just buy mine at the supermarket like most folks and throw it in a drip coffee maker...works for me.

Now that is one brand, I have not seen out here in the West. The one brand of fresh beans I have used more than any other, available both here in CA. and also in LA. is Don Francisco's. Either fresh bean or already ground, I prefer the fresh bean any day, it has that extra kick, flavor, et al.

LMAO, my wife and Son put Kethcup on eggs, something I cannot bring myself to do.

and eating a HB with a knife and fork. I recall my Grandad used to say in the 60s.
"A good Hamburger is supposed to be sloppy to eat, always requiring numerous napkins, one for the shirt, lap, and face, make it 2 for all, we need backups"....

He also used to say Rob, do you want a little hamburger (or Meat Loaf), with your Ketchup?

Incredible, he goes all out. I tried that for one year. I kind of enjoyed it getting just the right darkness or lighter roasts. Yet overall i learned kinda' like you said, I just buy it at the store, and come home then grind it myself, per pot or cup....
Your brother is a Java-Meister Brau....LOL. I bet his coffee is flipping fantastic too. I"d be afraid I'd get re-addicted to Caffeine if I knew your Brother, or lived near by....LMAo.....

I admire the tenacity of your Bro' to get the best out of what he has. Tell me 59, does your Bro' also brew his own beer? Now that is a art, hobby, and dam fun to enjoy a couple months after aging. The wait and hard work is all paid back in the drinking of those brews. First time a buddy came over, and showed me how to brew a dark stout brew. After 2 months of fermenting, it only took 2 brews to waste my ass....!

It's based in Vermont...

And I agree, whole bean is better
