It's nice to know that in times like these we still have people that can take shots at the team using the injury. Like was this really worth quipping about?
A friend of mine tweeted about how life kicked him in the balls today because his work truck had a flat, and then his spare also had a flat. I asked if his truck was Bosnian. Too soon? Probably. I consider it gallows humor.

Gallows humor always make for a worthy quip.

I think it will be Kanter that starts but I like see Zach get big minutes though because he been playing a lot better. But if I would be ask if Zach could start and I say yes. Remember when he started that 1 game against I believe Miami he did very well and he never left rotation after that game. But the thing everyone has to remember with CJ and Nurk out we got one consistent scorer that's Dame. The other 4 starters are not consistent scorers. That why I think he will go with Kanter. Now if he starts Zach and I would replace layman with Hood or even Curry.

I guess E.T will be asked to score more than 5 pts per game. I'm so pissed that a guy like E.T. is still on our roster, sucking $$$ and contributing nothing. I mean ... why do we pay this guy? I know he is not a center ... but damned ... why is he so useless?
Can we sill pick up a guy off the street?

Ok I had to take some time to listen to music and just kind of chill, when it comes to this stuff I'm in a sad mood. Here's my idea for how they move forward if the goal is to have playoff success this year.

They're missing their big so they need to make up for it with length. You Start Dame (because duh?), Hood at the 2, Harkless at the 3, Aminu at the 4 and Zach at the 5. This gives you length and switchability, they will struggle on offense at times. You shorten your rotation, your margin for error is almost none now. So CJ, Curry and Kanter are your scoring punch from the bench and all except for trying to exploit certain matchups, you probably don't want to go more than 8 deep. You can't afford to take a risk that Evan Turner is going to go into turnover mode, and you maybe give ML and Jake short spurts here or there to see if they have it on a particular night, but the leash should be short.

That works for me. My only concern from my OP is that there is not a lot of offense from that starting front line. Which is why I suggested Jake at a forward spot. (In place of either Hark or Aminu) But if you shorten the bench like Terry often does, I guess it doesn't make much difference who starts from those 8. They will all get major minutes.

Of course that does not address this road trip since CJ will not be there.

I really want Layman to play, but man he went from a month of looking like he was breaking out to a month of forgetting where the basket is, he makes some great defensive plays here and there but his overall defense just isn't good enough. I really think they just have to stop playing ET he will lose them games with the carelessness. Especially when their options to bail them out are limited right now.

I don't really care much who starts at C, although I think....yuck....Meyers seems like the least disruptive option

I sure wouldn't demote either Mo or Aminu to bench roles

Celtics got to the conference finals without Kyrie or Hayward last year.

Pels got to the semis without Boogie.

Center was coincidentally our deepest position. I know I'm in the bargaining stage, but maybe all isn't lost.

FYI, Boston rallied together with a bunch of depth after losing their star last season and made a good run. I still think we can beat a few of these teams and make it to the second round.

You beat me by 1 second

The one difference I see is those teams had more time to adjust. Least we have a Dame, and I know he's hungry to show he can get them through a round.

Not just time, but ability. All the time in the world doesn't matter if you don't have the ability...

(Yes, I'm gonna throw barbs at Terry until the cows come home. In these turbulent times, some stability is needed.)

Do we really have the option of not playing Jake? At the very least for the next 9 games move him back to PF and let him tire out a bigger player.
SG's are not having the same problem chasing him around like slower forwards did.

Agree completely.

Honestly, I think that if they did decide to leave Meyers on the shelf, that would be the one major benefit, is that Jake would probably go back to playing the 4 alongside either Zach or Enes.

Which is also why I think it's likely that Meyers is pressed into service.

We probably have to play him while CJ is out, but in the playoffs I dont know if he should get much run. Maybe playing other forwards will help him.

We should throw Nards and Kanter out there together, it would be funny.

Here are some lineup net rating stats, all with > 15 min sample size.

Dame- CJ-Layman-Aminu-Leonard -- + 20.8
Dame-CJ-Moe-Aminu-Leonard + 2.5

Curry- CJ-Turner-Collins-Leonard -- +14.3
Curry-Turner-Hood-Collins-Kanter -- + 46

I think Meyers needs to start. Get Collins and Kanter off the bench.
