Steve Kerr is the only reason I don't hate the Warriors. I hate their fans, but that's not his faultSteve Kerr: NFL Is Using The Anthem As Fake Patriotism, Nationalism, Scaring People
As much as I may get tired of the Warriors winning all the time, I never get tired of Steve Kerr speaking his mind. He is a highly intelligent, thoughtful man who just flat out gets it and isn't afraid to speak his mind. My respect for him is profound.
Growing up at a time when athletes were considered nothing more than "dumb jocks", I'm rather stunned that our athletes have become more intelligent than our politicians.

It certainly needs Catholics who follow what Jesus said more than they follow what Ayn Rand said.Paul Ryan: America needs more Catholics!
Damn straight. Bravo! People in this country need to wake the "F" up. These guys are trying to bring attention to a serious issue, and many just don't give a damn.I’m fairly conservative(Not a republican), and the way the whole kneeling thing was construed into some anti-military, anti -American thing has always bugged me. Agree or disagree with of the things guys like Kapearnick has said and done but his goal was to bring attention to how bad racial tensions have gotten (especially in inner cities), and how cops have used there authority or (misused it). I’ve heard decent arguements agreeing and disagreeing with Some of the issues brought up, which ultimately is good in my opinion as conversation is a start to understanding people in different shoes than your own. However, kneeling during the anthem, was never about disrespecting the military, America, or any of that. It was about issues that still need to be discussed and worked on, it’s kind of sad that got lost on so many people.
This conversation annoys me so much. I grew up in North Portland, was around colored people (brown, blacks, whites, whatever) my whole life. My parents were strong Christians in fact they were pastors, they always taught me to love and respect people no matter what, their skin color, their beliefs, if they hated me, it didn't matter I should respect other people. The only real fight I got into as a kid was when a neighbor of mine wouldn't let the black kids play basketball with us (they were a lot younger than us), and he was bullying them - like hardcore throwing basketballs at them and I don't know if I won the fight or not but I decked him pretty good, and took the kids back to their parents and apologized to her that her kids were treated like that. I was 10. Am I a saint no, but I knew that crap was wrong.Damn straight. Bravo! People in this country need to wake the "F" up. These guys are trying to bring attention to a serious issue, and many just don't give a damn.
I know white people have fears of things too, and they have their own battles, but my goodness I don't get it, I don't get how this became about the flag and the military, and who hates America or who doesn't. This should be about how can we help...
Instead of pointing out everytime this comes up statistics about black on black crime, or Chicago and Baltimore, how about we do what we can do help those cities, or at least get the people who want out, out of there. Just makes me shake my head, makes me angry, and sad all at the same time.
Anyways I'm sorry for all this talking, I've got my own failings in life.
Collin K is kind of a piece of work in a lot of ways. However, when there are huge swaths of people who feel threatened to be outside, threatened to be around police officers, feel like the color of their skin dictates how far they can go unless they hit the genetic lottery than we have a problem.Because Colin Kaepernick made it about the flag. His quote:
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”
This country is not perfect, but it’s still the most free country in the world, with the most opportunity. To many the flag is a representation of the good things in this country... and many have died behind the flag for all the positive change that has happened over the years. Now police brutality is one of the problems that still exists, but him saying the flag stands for all that is wrong and this country is not worth it... how can you blame people for making it about the flag with this statement
Just sayin, Colin made it about the flag with that statement. There is a difference between saying there are things wrong in this country that need to be fixed vs saying the flag and this country stand for everything that is wrong...Collin K is kind of a piece of work in a lot of ways. However, when there are huge swaths of people who feel threatened to be outside, threatened to be around police officers, feel like the color of their skin dictates how far they can go unless they hit the genetic lottery than we have a problem.
Our military fight for or at least used to fight for our freedoms, and the greatest offense they should feel is they fought bled and many died so that people in the states could be free, and yet there are many who don’t feel free.
I understand some people claim race or whatever when it’s not warranted, I understand that America has made strides in the racism issue.
Even if you want to make it about the flag, I don’t understand why the flag being offended is more important than people. I don’t understand why a military person or veteran would be offended that someone would look at the flag and say America has failed me and my community and I’m not going to stand up until we fix it. That’s not disrespecting those who fought in wars, or being unpatriotic, that’s saying hey the ideals that flag is supposed to stand for aren’t being upheld and we should fight to uphold those ideals, on our own turf.
I have no problem with Kaepernick kneeling. None what so ever. But the suggestion that he is sacrificed his career is laughable. His performance his last two years in the league is the reason he is currently unemployed. Not saying he is not as good as some current back ups, but trying to force himself out of SF only to return because he was demanding too much money, then playing sub par, does not work in NFL. They will sign anyone who is good, he just wasn't after Harbaugh left.
He did lose his starting job to Blaine Gabbert... if that doesn’t spell the end of your career then I don’t know what does... and that was before the protestingThis is complete bullshit. I could name at least 7 QBs on this list he should be starting over and so can you.

As someone who was born and raised a Catholic, Paul Ryan offends me to the bone. His (and Kellyanne Conway’s) brand of “I’ve got mine, now fuck you” Catholicism is a large factor in why this country is messed up. They must have been diddling in the cloak room when Christian values were being taught......People like that make me ashamed to call myself Catholic. They certainly don’t represent my beliefs and values. The Republican Party confuses me.
Paul Ryan: American needs more Catholics!
Donald Trump: America needs less kneeling, it's disrespectful!

Who is your team? Would you want him as your starter? Did you watch him closely or casually his last couple of years. Critics were all over him his last year with Harbaugh, then the following 2 years he won 4 games as a starter. Sure the whole team sucked, but he was part of the problem. Not to mention the whole "Love triangle" issue that splintered the locker room. Then he requested a trade when they hired Chip, but no one wanted to pay him what he was asking for in terms of an extension. This BTW was all before the Anthem stuff. He was not as good as he thought he was. Was he as good as some other "average to poor" QB's? Sure but teams have no problem finding average QB's without baggage. His stats were fine but he was already headed to back up status before this whole kneeling thing started.
I try not to get too involved in the political discussions, but this cracked me up.

This here illustrates part of the problem. You read his quote as:Because Colin Kaepernick made it about the flag. His quote:

No, I’m pointing out that he referenced the flag as a symbol of that oppression... no one is denying that problems still exist in this country, but we have come a long way and there are more good things about life here than bad when comparing to other countries... Kaepernick did make it about the flag in that statement so don’t tell people it’s not about the flagThis here illustrates part of the problem. You read his quote as:
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”
When you should read his quote as:
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”
Your focus is in the wrong place - an object - rather than being on the meaning of what that object represents to millions of people.
Dude, my team is the Eagles. We're set at QB.
And you're wrong. Kaep can play.
I disagree with you about Kaep. He sucks ass. The Seahawks ruined him.
