The Youtube TV issue is also being discussed over in the Blazer reddit, they are also talking and looking into a fix with KUNP and YouTube TV.



FYI it appears the channel still needs to have a contract negotiated.
 
Last two games i went to go watch on blazervision and it would just load a black screen. Luckily we are now able to record them on the Katu channel on dstream, but much prefer Blazer vision.
Im sure they will dial it all in just in time to need a new contract with a new provider and this will start all over again…

That's weird. There shouldn't be any issues with BlazerVision.
 
Still getting the "this program blocked in your area" crap on youtubetv.

I don't care who is at fault, it's pretty fucking pathetic that after 3 months of promises, after a 20+ year window of having fuck up after fuck up with their stupid games on TV, this is *still* an issue.

The games arent on YouTubeTV. Why do you think they magically will be?
Get BlazerVision if you live out of the area and cant use an antenna.

Why is the channel even available on youtubetv then if the games aren't on youtubetv??

And furthermore, why aren't the games available on youtubetv??!

This is 2025, not 1985.
 
I swear, sometimes the people running things don't realize just how simple it would be to say something like "we're working on it" and have it go a LONG way to keep people from being frustrated.
 
I swear some people just love to complain & take no accountability. You have access to BlazerVision or an antenna to watch the games. It’s your choice not to use those options that are easily available.
 
I heard that KUNP is being taken off YouTubeTV starting in 2025 & it’s been YouTubeTV’s plan to do so for awhile. It has nothing to do with the Blazers.

I swear some people don't realize not everyone can receive the channels with an antenna. As I've stayed *plenty* of times before, where I live in the Portland area, I can't receive those channels.

And I swear some people don't realize that if you offer the channel on the provider (youtubetv in this case) and tell everyone "It'll switch over in January" and it *DOESN'T*, and not only that you don't address the situation and tell the fans that you're working on it...gtfo with this accountability horse shit.
 
You can certainly get BlazerVision.
You can certainly switch from YouTubeTV to Fubo & probably get a free month of Fubo for a free trial.
You have options available to you. It’s your choice. Are the games a priority to you or not?

I have Fubo & like it. It’s great. But I’ve never used YouTubeTv so don’t know how it compares.

In the year 2025, the Blazers are no longer a priority to me. They suck ass this year, they sucked ass last year, and they sucked ass the year before. They spent 20+ seasons making it difficult to watch games for a larger portion of us then they will EVER admit to in public, and haven't exactly earned any kind of benefit of the doubt or leeway with fans that I'm going to change to a different provider, or somehow magically get an antenna that works.

What I am going to do is be befuddled how after 20+ years of self ownage when it comes to the TV situation, they didn't make sure that something as simple as a channel on one of the providers was available OR at least say from the get go that the channel wasn't going to be available on youtubetv or that it might be delayed longer than the January deadline they already announced. They well full Steve Patterson on transparency here.
 
True. I can’t blame you & definitely understand why you wouldn’t want to switch in order to watch this team.
I don’t recall the Blazers ever saying they’d be on YouTubeTV.
If you are in the Portland area, why in the world won’t a good HD antenna pick up the KATU 2.2 signal?

between me and the antenna towers lies a rather large hill. I can pick up KGW and that's about it. It's beyond maddening (and not just because I like KPTV more than KGW).

Everything you are saying is spot on and been my issue from the get go. The team fucked it up. To those who get the games now via the fucking antennas in the year 2024, congrats. I tried on multiple TVs before I wanted to burn that piece of plastic garbage in the oven. To those who are paying for the games, that’s super as well. The team can’t do the most basic things right. I have watched one game this season. Way to go Blazers. Between being god awful and making watching the games a nightmare the fan base I’m sure is skyrocketing

So to watch our local team we just need to buy another f’n subscription to something or change streaming services again. Or hope the antenna works. Easy peasy.

I mean if makes sense your frustrated.

But I think the TV change is massive improvement.

The Blazers are allowing all the games for free OTA or a cheap streaming option.

A new provider just started literally 2 days ago with 2025 contracts.

Makes sense there will be glitches getting this to work.

I use YouTubeTV and love it and wouldn't want to have to use a different provider. I'm out of market so can watch it all in YouTubeTV league pass.

I'd think eventually you'll get this channel though.

Now all the parts about this team losing and having a bad roster..... unfortunately that fix will take much longer than having the games pop up on y'all TVs

Not even sure how to do that. Ill look into it. I just open the nba app and blazer vision is listed on the left. Shouldn't have to do this though is the point.

I don’t know why YouTubeTV is blacking out KUNP, the alt-KATU channel where the Blazers air most of their games, but I can confirm that you are not crazy, they are in fact blacking out that channel.

As a YouTube TV partisan, this pisses me off because I would like to watch the Blazers on multiview with all my other NBA games and the NBA App is a glossy piece of crap that breaks all the time or forces you to delete and redownload endless times.
