Sounds like he’s gonna have some adjusting to do when it comes to NBA agents. Hopefully owning 2 winter sports teams means his attention will be divided just the right amount.

Soruces: Tom Dundon agrees to buy Trail Blazers, stay in Portland
Tom Dundon, the owner of the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes, has agreed to buy the Portland Trail Blazers from the estate of Paul G. Allen for a valuation of just more than $4 billion, sources confirmed to ESPN on Wednesday.

Dundon intends to keep the team in Portland, sources confirmed to ESPN. Other members of Dundon's group includes Marc Zahr (co-president of Blue Owl Capital) and Sheel Tyle (Portland-based founder and co-CEO of Collective Global).

That means Dame's next wife will be a... Kardashian!

Yielding to the Call of Booty.

I have long wanted a Blazer-themed hockey jersey. This needs to happen.

Wow I didn't realize this was like...... done.
probably a rich guy FOMO thing. Major sports teams don't come on the market that often. lately it seems these NBA team sales have been quick except for Minnesota situation.

Now he just needs to sell the Canes and get us a NHL team.

I am pretty sure the lane was already chosen. They have a young core with about 7-8 players, and 2-3 vets to show them the way.
They are done tanking.

You can't be done tanking if you don't have a star.

Do we have a star?

If the fact that one of the investors is based in Portland doesnt shut up you "the team is moving" dipshits then nothing will.

also in the ESPN story:
Dundon's group plans to discuss a public/private partnership for an arena deal with the city and state, sources told ESPN.

why would one of the minority owners being from Portland change anything? Dundon lives in Texas; Marc Zahr lives in Chicago. I don't think people this wealthy are provincial in the business perspectives

I doubt this 'sale' happened overnight. It's probably been brewing for weeks if not months. My guess is that it was feedback from Dundon that prompted Adam Silver to mention that Portland needs a new arena. I'm not sure the logistics make a major renovation of the Moda an option
