I thought they blew it man. That onside kick...... holy shit.....

That was Candlestick Magic! Poor Cards will miss the playoffs with 10-11 wins. Imagine being a Cards fan and seeing your playoff homes go down the train on that. Leagues shouldn't have all of these divisions.

Anyway, niners will have to play a lot better to win in the playoffs, they really should have destroyed the Falcons tonight when you look at the talent mis-match between the two teams.

They definitely aren't playing as well as they were last season. Not the same team.

Imagine what the niners would do with a quality passing game....

They need a new OC.

The problem is clear to me though. Square peg in round hole. They've been trying to make Kap into a pocket passer all year, and it hasn't been very successful. Not compared to last season. Kap is a zone read guy. He needs to run. He needs to think on his feet. Putting him in a pocket and tell him to play like Peyton Manning is not fair to Kap. That's not his style. I understand why they're doing it. It's safer for Kap, but it's not his game. The dude is a wild man, and we saw him at his best last year against the Pack in the playoffs. That's the Kap that the Niners need.

The worst part of the game was this "penalty". Jesus Fucking Christ! He goes into tackle the guy, no contact to the helmet....how the fuck is this a personal foul?

Falcons underachieved this year. You have to lovr the Seahwaks fans talking ish about it, though. I mean, they should have at least another loss or two or three. If not for the gheyness of the refs in NO, SF wins the division.

Dude, they're trying to develop him and make him more well-rounded. They bust out the pistol more and more as it's needed later in the year. You do it all year long, people learn to adjust. People realize Kaep doesn't have a pocket game yet. This is by design. Not saying they win it all. But anyone with an inside ear into Bay Area sports talk knows this is pretty clear. Coaches there talk about it, albeit quietly. Worst kept secret.

No.

Second-worst part. The PF they called on the TD at the end was BS and almost cost the Niners the game, if for no other reason it meant a recovery of an inside kick would be in FG territory.

I don't like Roman. I feel like he tries too hard to be cute at times. Dude just needs to simplify.

In regards to Kap, he has the arm to be a pocket passer, but I'm not sure if his brain works that way. I've heard a lot of people say he is having trouble checking down. He's still really young, so he could develop.

On Roman.... I like him, though I agree with your assessment. I thought the 3rd down play-calling was suspect several times tonight.

As for Kaep, he's still figuring out how to be a pocket passes and check through his receivers. It's no shock he's struggling, but the Niners are trying to develop that in him. He's never played that type of QB until this season, but I see him getting it more and more. The team trying to make him an all-around QB? Wise move, IMO.

Like I said, I totally understand WHY they're doing it. I'm just not sure if he CAN do it. I guess we'll see.

I think Roman needs to go though.

What's up with LaMicheal James? Seems like a waste of a high draft pick just for a punt and kickoff return guy. They going to trade him? Use him? Cut him?

I think they'll get rid of him after this season. They have Lattimore coming up next season as well. Niners are extremely deep at RB.

It's weird how much shit he takes on twitter.

He made a comment on Twitter that some fans took as him complaining. I think they overreacted, but they don't have the long-term ties to LMJ that Duck fans have. I think the guy can be a productive back in the NFL, but the Niners simply don't need him. They have Gore, they have Hunter, and supposedly they really like Lattimore. I hope LMJ can go somewhere else and get a shot.

Niners pulled that one out of their a$$!

I just hope it's a Niners vs Seahawks NFC Championship Game.

I thought LMJ played really well last year as the backup when Hunter went down. He certainly averaged more per carry than Hunter is this year. Maybe they don't like his blocking? He has a slight fumbling issue too, but I think he could be used more as well. KR/PR is actually a pretty important position in football though, very under-rated.

I wouldn't say the niners are deep with talent at rb. Hunter is a change of pace guy and the rest are all unproven guys.

Check out this helmet to helmet hit which drew no penalty, then Brooks literally touches Matt Ryan and it's a flag, (and the Whitner BS call). This shit is called so inconsistantly, and can determine the outcome of a game. It should be challengeble.

Brooks hit on Brees was not helmet to helmet but that cost the 49ers a game, and maybe a bye and homefield advantage....
