If there's a team that can absorb Hart's contract and Phoenix has interest in Nurk at his price and wants whatever else we're offerring in terms of draft compensation, we could definitely see a double sign and trade that lands us Ayton. Hart going to a team that gives us draft compensation, that compensation and maybe a little more going to Phoenix with a S&T Nurk for a S&T Ayton.

I'm not saying this is for sure what we're looking at but I've been thinking about that scenario.

Elephant in the room time: doesn't a deal like that tie us into a huge, long contract for what is becoming the least important position?

Ayton is good, not all world. There's a reason why Phoenix isn't committing top dollar cash. The Knicks are desperate. That's why they're doing everything to go after him. A re-signed Nurk will work. And allow for more moves. Ayton would hamstring the franchise .

I think a big athletic 5 is going to be relevant in this league as long as the game is played. You can play small guys off the floor just as much as teams can play bigs off the floor. So I think that Ayton is athletic enough to survive the evolution that the game is going through. I definitely could be wrong though and if I am, I hope we don't pay any big a max contract, even a max contract like Ayton can get which is the smallest max there is. I mean the Suns obviously agree with you that he's not worth the money so maybe we shouldn't be interested in doing this.

I can see Sharpe adding about 10 lbs of muscle to his frame. It might take a year or two, but he just turned 19, he will be able to play the 3 as well.

Hart wasn't happy the Blazers posted a photo of Grant with his number...his tweet said "Damn why he have to have my number?"

am I the only one who gets very annoyed at these type of cryptic posts from Nurk?
I think as much as the media fucks with players....it's fair game for players to fuck with the media too..that's all I think Nurk does...now if he throws a fit in a game...that's different. Off season I think he's pretty chill

Hmm. Not sure sure this is messing with the media as much as messing with the fan base?
Who in the media would that be directed towards to mess with?

I don't do twitter so it doesn't mess with me....and when I saw his twitter and saw the link it made me chuckle...Nurk loves Blazer fans ..I don't make that connection coming from him...he's trolling media hacks.

Yeah I don't want max Ayton on the Blazers, especially if we have a supermax contract for a guard. Its much more important we spend money on a couple wings. Ayton plus vet minimum wings isn't going to get us close to contending.

Now if we trade Dame and build a backcourt around Simons/Sharpe it might actually make sense to have Ayton. The team would still have room for good wings. Doesn't sound like the Blazers are doing that any time soon.

Probably the reason PHX would let him walk if they don’t value him as a MAX contract.

Even with Chris Paul, who may be the best post feeder in the League. Phoenix's hesitation has affected my view of Ayton. If there's a place where he would be successful, PHX is it.

Hart's contract is non guaranteed, and the team has until the 25th to guarantee it. I'd assume that's the hourglass emoji. Who knows. Could just be waiting downstairs for his wife to finish getting ready
Have you seen his wife? I'd wait also. Might be another meaning of Hourglass?
