No shorts or deal coming soon but not the greatest rumor

Two or three seasons ago George might have got me semi excited but right now with his injury history and age scares me not to mention the Clippers already fleeced the Blazers on one deal . If this did happen Cronin would prolly give up 3 , Ant , Sharpe and every 1st he could for the next 10 years. I know that prolly will not happen but still if you ask me what PG is worth now it's not the 3rd pick more like if the Blazers would have fallen to 7th then maybe that and Ant and a Future 1st and other small stuff to make Salaries work but 3 and stuff no way. If I am the Blazers I do not just hang up the phone I put the Clippers front office phone number on the blocked list and ignore them for good cause that would be nuts.

So the Trail Blazers might get the rights to Scoot Henderson, then become the laughingstock of the NBA by trading him away for oft-injured players.
Is that what's going on here?

My guess would be with the pacers for Turner and one would hope the 7th pick to go along with other things?

Take Scoot and let him inflate his value during the season the way Shaedon did. Then trade him if you must. I bet you'll be getting better offers.

The problem isn’t value I think #3 has plenty of value the problem is there aren’t many players worth that pick. That likely isn’t going to change.

If he gets picked third and then outplays that, he'll be untouchable. It'll be like Sharpe squared.

Heck, Toronto got a guy in Scotty Barnes that is untouchable even though he hasn't improved since his rookie year... I can't imagine Portland would move Scoot if he turned out to be better than advertised.

And there are Clipper fans saying the exact opposite. I love it!
It's a tough spot to be in... a massive contract for a guy on the wrong side of 30 on a team that hasn't really done much the last couple of seasons. Some fans just don't want to accept it's time to make a big change.

:)

Surprised they don't have more fans that are blinded by the hope of potential that is so obvious to many here!

keep in mind, Paul George has shown massive loyalty to the Clippers, the team that drafted him after all; it's understandable he has a close connection with Clipper fans

Damn I was queueing up another "senior moment" gif.

I disagree. It's still a little bit of a hypothetical for teams. Also, waiting allows for better trade options to come up. Who knows? Embiid might ask out if Harden leaves and they start losing. Just one example. Maybe things get ugly with Brooklyn and reverse course on Bridges.

Trade Ant for a starting wing. Trade Nurk for another option at center. Let Scoot come off the bench.

What the fuck are you talking about PG is the ultimate sell out? I can never take what you say seriously again.

I took away the fine print and went crazy on you for no fucking reason.

(I know this is not YOUR perspective, Tince :) )

That is such a simplistic approach.

If we could have Paul George's career to date? Sure. Trade all the people.

If we could have Paul George over the last couple of years? Nah.

If anyone expects him to be better, moving forward (including the next two years at over $90m), then they are being ridiculous IMO.

I definitely agree with the drafting of scoot. The other two depend on who we can get in trades, but I'm doubtful we could do any better than those two guys.

I'm not saying I agree with the logic, just providing proof that there are Clipper fans who don't like the Ant & #3 for PG13 trade just like there are Blazer fans who don't like it. Some people here value our own players/picks so much, they can't fathom the rest of the country doesn't see it the same way.

Personally, I would not trade Ant & #3 for PG13 if I were Portland. If I were the Clippers, I'm not sure I'd love the move either. Ultimately, both team would need to have other moves ready to make such a trade make sense.

Yeah, I edited my post to acknowledge you were posting it as an example, rather than your personal take on things. I didn't do it quickly enough. Oops.

I agree trading Ant or Nurk should be dependent on who we can get in return (same goes for the #3 pick). Curious why you feel Nurk/Ant have more value to Portland than the rest of the league, and therefore you're doubtful we can do better than those two?

A roster with Dame/Ant/Sharpe/Scoot would somehow be the most imbalanced roster we've had in the last decade of having imbalanced rosters.
