No to Hawes!

hawes isn't a bad backup Center or fill in center in the absence of a good center like hibbert. not much interest in him, he'll probably come in at a recent price...don't know who else will target him? Philly? they need to dump Igoudala first.

Spencer Hawes listens to gangsta rap :MARIS61:

and his dad was once a Blazer!

don't be ignorant y'all. we need Greg Smegsma and his 3 ppg and 3rpg! He's the future (aside the fact that he is 2 years older than Hawes). :MARIS61:

Wow. Are there Hawes family members on the board?
1. Hawes is a UFA. He is tall. Omer Asik just scored a $25M contract. You do the math.
2. You haven't heard of Stiemsma? I honestly assumed that he was pretty well-known. The Celtics are on TV all the time, and he played a fair amount in the playoffs. I'm sorry if I somehow made you feel ignorant. Perhaps this will help.

1: Well you posted a highlight video, so you must be right.

2: Hawes is a talented offensive center. But no need to even reach out to him because Stiemsma had 6 blocks this one time.

Ignorance is having irrational man crushes on all foreign players.

I'll add that if LMA starts whining about a trade after the team adds Hibbert and keeps Batum solely because of a rookie PG, then he's probably someone you don't want on your team as a leader.

I don't think LMA would stab a rookie in the back like that, though, so it's likely irrelevant.

Hawes went 14p/10.6r/4a/2b per 36 last year and had an 18 PER on 20 USG.

Other than one poster being upset that Hawes is a Republican (which I didn't know, but whatever), what is it about those numbers that is a concern?

His per/36 rebounding was actually the exact same as Hibbert's, and his blocks were only 0.4 less/36.

Hawes wouldn't be the end of the world. He'd be a good fill in, then spend the money saved on other guys.

Smegma would just be the 12th man.

When I saw Smegm/Smardzja/Smiley was announced to be on the Team USA Select team working against the real team, I really didn't even know who he was, or why he was on that team. I confused him with the other big white dude on Boston quite often, and totally forgot about him when that team was announced.

I actually really like Stiemsma, for what he is. Shoots a good percentage, averages 4 blocks per 36. Good at post defense as well with a strong body. His stats are extremely similar to Asik's, but with Asik being the better rebounder, and Stiemsma being better on offense and at blocking shots.

That said, I do think Hawes is significantly better, Stiemsma is more of a ~15-20 minute bench player, or stopgap starter.

I just like typing Smegma. I was completely wrong on Gortat and what he could do in PHX with more minutes, so I won't underestimate centers with solid per/36 numbers again until proved otherwise.

I actually like Hawes. The Republican thing was a joke (he is one though). I don't dislike all Republican's.

Steimsma is a good role player, there's a reason he was getting a lot burn in the playoffs. He can block shots at an elite level and plays good defense. Rondo even occasionally feeds him the open dunk when he's lucky.

I don't think Hawes would be a bad signing at all. I think he'd like to be back in the Northwest again, too. I've always looked at his game as having a lot of potential, he lived up to it this year in Philly.

It's "Republicans". It wasn't a 'joke', it was troll bait.

Plus, Smegma got <8mpg in the playoffs, which was far under his regular season number of 14mpg. Not sure how that amounts to him "getting a lot of burn in the playoffs". Seems to me he was played less in the playoffs.

For the record...

I loathe republicans.

For the record, who really cares what the guy is politically if he can play ball? Oden campaigned for Obama, yet I still wanted the guy to succeed in Portland.

Hawes has a fairly complete offensive game. Smegma can dunk and block a few shots, but he doesn't rebound or score like Hawes, and he's older than Hawes.

Facts are facts, numbers are numbers. And the numbers say, "He's white!"

Talk about a non-sequitor. What are you talking about?

For the record...

Judging by your draft picking, you'll be on the Republican bandwagon in no time. But you're probably not qualified anyway.

Exhibit A of why I dislike most Republican's. No sense of humor.

"He got a lot of burn in the playoffs"

8mpg in the playoffs compared to 14mpg in the regular season. What the joke supposed to be your knowledge about him? Or was that just your ignorance?

Because your ignorance of his playing time in the playoffs is actually quite funny.

So now your making this about Stiemsma?
