I 100% agree! It's totally weird I'm saying this because I used to think he could never get the game. Glad I was wrong because that is extremely valuable for a big man.

I 100% agree with this. Run him like we did with Sabas years ago. He has good court awareness and shooting range, which will take away the defender in the post. If Vonleh and Leonard turn out to be as good as they can be, the bigs would be worried about both players being able to hit the open J. It would give so much room for Dame and the other playmakers inside.

Good pt. I think it's also a reason Gerald Henderson could have a career year. He's not playing with slow Al Jefferson in the post anymore.
 
Leonard is only 22. Just look at the progress he's made. He was an utter joke his rookie season, and by year 3 he was going toe to toe with Marc Gasol in the playoffs.

A lot of people have been absolutely certain of Leonard's ceiling pretty much since we drafted him, and pretty much all of those people have been proven wrong so far. And yet here we are again.

His biggest knocks are that he has a very slow release, a penchant for taking only absolutely wide open shots, and (although not the buffoon he once was) still has a bit to learn about court awareness. Those are definitely hurdles that will prevent him from ever being an All-Star, but they are far from un-surmountable, especially given how he's progressed so far.

I look at his size, athleticism, speed, shooting ability and physique, and most importantly the progress he made to get to this point, and I think he has a legit shot at an Aldridge career path (hopefully minus the exodus).

I don't know that this is his ceiling. But it's probably something between that and Mehmet Okhur.
 
Anyway, I'm much less optimistic about Vonleh's upside, just because I haven't been following him except in one summer league. He looked great, and all the combine stuff looks great. I just have this gnawing feeling that there's something Charlotte knows that I don't. *shrug* I mean, if a hot blonde with a magnificent body walks up and offers to have sex with you, she must have AIDS or something, right? This can't be that easy, can it?

Well......the front office Michael Jordan has definitely shown he isn't even in the same universe as the player Michael Jordan. And while Harkless doesn't appear to have the same upside as Vonleh, we got him for virtually spit and used chewing gum. So yes, it can be that easy. In many ways it's a result of the current salary cap situation. Charlotte tried to unload Zeller first but had no takers. Vonleh was next man up. And IMO, even if Vonleh is a bust, we still received a proven player in Henderson, while only giving up an inconsistent and worn down Batum. So either way, it rates as a wash at worst and a helluva deal at best.
 
I bet Noah's jump shot will have a lot of arc/ark.

I do agree that if both Vonleh and Leonard reach their full potential, Leonard wins because of his superior size, quickness and money shot. He has just taken a slow path (understandable given his bball background), which makes it look like he may never fully grow into his body/skill set. Vonleh seems to be very close to using his body fully. His handle and inside game just look more ready to burst.

In the end I hope both do great because they could be a fantastic duo considering they both move well and can both shoot.
 
Olshey tried to temper expectations for Biebs. Reading this thread, it didn't work.
 
I've always believed in Meyers potential. I also think his supposed slow release is overblown. When he's wide wide open he definitely takes his time. But I've seen him hit shots under pressure with a quick release plenty of times.
