Looks awful today and you can also tell he is bad by his body language. Hope the pen is ready.

...he just kept missing his spots...leaving too many meatballs over the middle of the plate.

When he pitches with a little swagger - he's effective. Today, he just showed no emotion, had no confidence, spent too much time during an AB taking his cap off, wiping his forehead. He seemed to crack in the 1st inning when Jeter failed to get to that ball, and possible turn 2. After that - Nova was deflated. Someone needs to give him the 'grow a sack speech'. You can't show up with no energy, and allow a bad fielding play ruin your entire start in the 1st inning.

He can be ON and can be OFF when he wants to.

......a minor league trait.

This was the bad Nova. Not the solid guy from last season.

Which Nova shows up on National TV vs.
the big bad Sox?

Wish he were more consistent.

The Yankees need him to step up because theirs really no one else in the pen right now that could take that 5th spot.

Lets just hope Nova has his game ball tonight so the Yankees get right and take 3/4 from the Bostons.

...yeah, Phelps pitched very well during ST, Pineda was just a little better. Now if Pineda could simply somehow learn to wear his cap straight.

I don't know if its a trend, a fashion statement, can't find a mirror or they just have trouble finding the middle of there heads. It just looks really dumb.

Don't forget the iron flat bill....

To this day and ever since I was a kid, all new hats get the bill curved. The rubber bands around the coffee can worked best. And I still check the cap in a mirror to make sure its on straight.

...yeah, he looks like some 5 year old playing t-ball.

Yeah every time I see one of these idiots I can't help but think of Porky from the little rascals. I'm just surprised that the manager doesn't say, "Hey not for nothing try to look professional".

...talking about having the caps "peaked", I remember playing L League and cutting out a piece of cardboard to fit the front half of the cap (kinda shaped like a girls tiara) and fitting it inside between the cap material and the band to get a higher "peak" in the front....aah, good times.

lol...

We used to peak wool caps by wetting them, place clothes pins at the left, right, and center and hang them out to dry. Seeing someone wear a cap on backward is still a pet peeve.

...same here...I mean, there's a time and place for everything, but to wear your hat backwards with no other purpose than hoping to somehow project "coolness', is not cool at all. In fact, any time anyone has to pretend to be something they are not, is not "cool"...it's pathetic.

I'm in full agreement on the cap wearing. Either wear the way it was meant to be worn or not at all. If you wear it backwards you mine as well wear a skull cap. And if you wear it to the sign or slightly askew you better learn words like SHAZAMM & GOOOLLY because you look like a goober. And the other guys that bother me are the ones that wear a dew rag under there caps. I don't know maybe I'm just to old school for all this so-called hip-shit.

vs Rays...........Nova is fodder.

Shaking his elbow like an upcoming tommy john candidate

He's back to being the bad Nova. There's one thing to have a bad start but this guy gives you no chance.
