The player that Knicks are interested in is Harkless and one of the 1st we have. Don't know what we get back but talks are early stage right now.
Makes sense...Harkless is a New Yorker, not a really defined style of game...can learn Phil's triangle...big question is what do we get back and can we throw in Meyers? The player that Knicks are interested in is Harkless and one of the 1st we have. Hark + 15 for 8 seems fair. The player that Knicks are interested in is Harkless and one of the 1st we have. Don't know what we get back but talks are early stage right now.
Porzingas would be more like itNobody has brought up the elephant in the room, Carmelo.
Its gonna happen.
For those that think Crabbe is way better than Turner.....
AAAAHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Crabbe cant dribble, he cant pass and he cant defend as well.
We have shooters. Crabbe's one hot skillset is redundant on this team...
Who is hot garbage??? lmao.....
Nurk....20 10 guy night in night out"We have shooters."
You mean dame and CJ?
Nurk....20 10 guy night in night out
He shoots....just from 12 ft in.....geesh! I blame the 3pt shot for this! We're talking about shooters.

That's because I didn't want to post it into existence.Nobody has brought up the elephant in the room, Carmelo.

I agree that Turner brings a LOT more to the table, but every advanced metric favors Crabbe (WS/48, BPM, VORP, Ortg) except for Drtg. Some by a large margin. For those that think Crabbe is way better than Turner.....

I think somebody in one of the other threads had an idea. I mean, what if Olshey got a no on his attempts to trade for George or Butler, or just decided it was too risky to trade for George. I have always thought Evan Turner was a Phil Jackson kind of player and somebody posted that above (although the link didn't match). So what about trading Turner, Harkless and Leonard (he also seems to be kind of a Phil Jackson player, although a poor-performing one) and the 15 for Anthony, O'Quinn and the #8?Nobody has brought up the elephant in the room, Carmelo.

good points....actually I think Melo is the perfect fit for Stotts system....he's Stott's Dirk basically...if you can get him to play team ball and be the player he is for team USA we'd be in the finals in the west all through Dame's prime.I think somebody in one of the other threads had an idea. Call me crazy but I can see New York doing that. They do not like to rebuild, this would be going younger but still being experienced. They would be receiving two good young veterans in exchange for a player they consider now a liability and for a backup center who isn't really needed.
Now, would Portland do it? If they think somebody will be available at #8 that they really love and who will help within two years, then I guess yes. They would save $6 million the first year and by acquiring two guys with one less year on their deals than the guys going out. How would Anthony do here? Does Olshey think Stotts is such a wizard that he could integrate him successfully?
Dame, CJ, Melo, Vonleh and Nurk.....actually a hell of a core with Aminu coming off the bench ....I think Phil Jackson would see Turner as a Scottie Pippen swiss army knife guy who doesn't need to shoot 3's..who do you double team against that group?
The defensive coordinator....Bill LaimbeerWho defends the perimeter?
and Leonard (he also seems to be kind of a Phil Jackson player, although a poor-performing one)
Phil won with Luke Longley, Will Perdue and Bill Wennington...centers aren't really his thing unless Shaq is the objective there...Meyers like Mo Harkless would do whatever Phil wanted while his two scorers ball hogged awayI've gotta hear how Meyers Leonard is a "Phil Jackson" kind of player
Watch Melo. He holds the ball. It would be a disaster in our offense. Actually a disaster in today's NBA. Plus he would make Dame and CJ look like all defense performersDame, CJ, Melo, Vonleh and Nurk.....actually a hell of a core with Aminu coming off the bench ....I think Phil Jackson would see Turner as a Scottie Pippen swiss army knife guy who doesn't need to shoot 3's..who do you double team against that group?
I guess in the sense that those guys weren't really considered "bangers" or guys who posted up a lot. Phil might have a big enough ego to think he could whisper in Myers' ear and make him into something.I've gotta hear how Meyers Leonard is a "Phil Jackson" kind of player. When I think of "Phil Jackson kind of players," I think of either Hall of Famers or else role-players who are smart, play defense and can pass well.
Or, wait--I guess his time in New York also creates two new types: awful players and white big men who shoot three-pointers (Porzingis is basically this category by himself). I suppose Leonard could quality under both.
