NY Knicks Pick watch

Is there much of a difference? If we make the playoffs then won't our pick be about the same as if the Knicks make the playoffs? I think we have a good chance of having two 1st round picks this year. Of course, then we can debate for months if we trade or keep them.
If we make the playoffs, we won't have our own 1st. It goes to Chicago thanks to that idiot Olshey

We don't want them to finish too high. We want them to be the #8 seed in the East.
I absolutely do not trust NYK to win any play-in games lol. Pick #22 is perfectly fine with me, especially in this draft class.

So instead of lottery-protected it's playoff-protected? WTF??

True, but I don't think we will make the playoffs. I think everyone ahead of us will make it except maybe one team. And the Lakers if healthy will move ahead of us. But we can't make any trades until after our season ends....so we will know if we get to keep our pick.

The only way I trade NYs pick to Chicago in order to make sure we keep our own pick is if we make the playoffs and NY does not.
Ideally (besides having a great run after the break) is if we get our pick and NY's pick and we have the option to trade both for a player that makes us better next year.

I look forward to combining those two first-round picks into the 2023 version of Zach Collins.

Sadly a healthy Zach would be nice to have right now.
Last night in 32 minutes he was 5-11, 2-5, with 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and a steal.
Agreed, but a "healthy Zach" is a sighting as rare as Bigfoot. If the Blazers thought he could stay healthy, we would have signed him to a huge extension. I love the guy and wish him nothing but the best. And agreed, he is EXACTLY what this team needs.

The spurs would probably trade him. They're trading all the good players.

He's missed 11 games this season. That's not too bad.

The Spurs traded Poeltl for a 2024 first and two seconds. And Khem Birch.

big win by the Knicks against the Nets. They look really good right now

The Knicks now have the 8th best record in the league in this year of mass parity outside of 4 at the bottom and 5 or 6 at the top. That has moved the pick down to #23.

That pick is looking like it’s going to be between 23-25.

By a "healthy Zach," I assume you mean a "healthy Blazer big man?"

It's somewhat painful to think, we gave Little basically what SAS gave Zach, despite being much more invested in Zach and Little's health being just as much day-to-day. GPII jokes aside, I have no confidence in the current medical staff. The only thing they're good at is being cautious.

Are they cautious tho? They rushed simons and looked what happened

Zach has played 52 games so far this season and having career numbers. Since starting almost 15 points a game and 8 rebounds a game. He had held his own against other centers he gone against so far as a starter. Last night he out played Turner from Indiana. Zach last night he was -8.8 as rim protector and those numbers been better since starting. Does Portland need take a look at Zach this off season the answer is yes. Philly and Denver and Brooklyn was required about him at deadline. His contract next year 7.7 million not guaranteed but for the spurs to trade him they would have to pick up his contract and I don't see why they wouldn't.

Kinda sad that it took SIX YEARS for him to become a decent rotation player. I was so mad when we drafted him.
