Way to go! And aside from accomplishing a huge goal you will be winning me a bet. From my 18 mile tune-up run this past Sunday...View attachment 5981. I got 6 weeks to figure out how to tack on 8.2 miles!
Hahahaha!Get the sneakers with the wheels that pop out in them.
I have something called Body Glide for that. I put it on for a 19 mile run and had no problems. You can't win a marathon without putting some band aids on your nipples.
woooohoooo!![]()

Thanks for posting this. I'll read it right now.New York City Marathon Race Strategy: How to Crush the Five Burroughs Written by Coach Jeff
With just over 45,000 finishers each year, the New York City Marathon is the largest marathon in the world. It’s also one of the most difficult courses of the Major Marathons.
With deceptively hilly bridges, a tough finish through Central Park, and screaming crowds that can make your adrenaline surge at the most inopportune times, the course can bring even the most elite runners to their knees.
For these reasons, running the New York City Marathon requires a precise and meticulous race strategy that blends patience and cautious aggression that will allow you to keep the legs strong for the final hills and the glycogen in your system to prevent hitting the wall.
In this article, we’re going to break down each section of the New York City Marathon course and show you exactly how you should approach each mile for an optimal finishing time.

Thanks Further! I'm only doing 2 more runs. 6 laps around the reservoir in Central Park (9.6 miles) on Saturday and 3 laps (4.8 miles) on Tuesday. Then it's rest, rest, rest. It's right around the corner, 11 days away. Make sure not to overtrain in the final week. You put in the time, now trust your body. Stretch a lot though.
Good luck, you have a bunch of S2ers rooting for you.

2 nights before...And a huge spaghetti dinner the night before the race.

My number is 63537
I'm in the last wave that starts at 11am. Probably won't cross starting line til 11:10am. Trying to finish race in 5 hours though 5.5 is probably more realistic since I've never done it before. We'll see. I did half marathon in 2:23.

Ha. Thanks man.Hey, doubling your speed would have put you 20th overall in last year's marathon.
What you've done so far is very impressive. Good luck on Nov. 1st.
Finished in 5:34:19
