Captain Crush #38

Of the 227 "sweeper" pitches Wheeler has thrown this year, ONLY 1, (by Captain Crush) has been hit for a HR!

Judge

Chisolm

Rice

Three solo shots! Jazz and Rice back to back.

JC having a pretty good start with the Yanx. I'm hoping that Torres is jettisoned and that Jazz plays 2B...and maybe Cash-man can acquire a suitable 3Bman.

Zack Wheeler is getting rocked big time, has given up seven runs.

Soto with a 2-run double.
Wells with a 2 run triple.

Enjoying the offensive breakout. Shows what can happen when even a couple of others besides Soto and Judge hit.

What really blows my mind is- Judge already has 98 RBIs!!

We've seen this before with Gil...Boone get him outta there.

ALL RISE again for number 39 and judge has 99 RBI’s. Yanks lead 9-3

Tonkin is a local homeboy here, from Palmdale CA. He lives here in my neighborhood (Quartz Hill, CA.), fortunately I have never ran into him. Honestly I've never been impressed with the almost submariner, or 3/4 sidearm hurler.

Putting my differences aside, Tonkin has a lot of movement on his pitches and a decent fastball, but the paths of his breaking pitch is too predictable!

New York Times April 2023
ATLANTA — In the past seven years, Atlanta is the 11th different team Michael Tonkin has played for and only the second MLB team, the Twins being the other.

Since 2017, the last season he pitched in the majors before this one, the 6-foot-7 reliever pitched for teams in — deep breath, we’ll go chronological order — Rochester (Triple A), Sapporo (Japan), Long Island (independent), San Antonio (Triple A), Reno (Triple A), Long Island (again, 2019 and 2021), Tijuana (independent) and Aguilas in the Dominican winter league, his last stop before a full season at Triple-A Gwinnett in 2022.

Solid win to make it three straight for the first one in forever. Tough one tomorrow against Nola. Need a gem from Cole.
