i think it is funny that when someone who works hard for a living makes alot of money, all the lazy people call it unfair

once again, teachers, firefighters, and blue collar workers are ruining america

I actually wonder what you do for a living. We've all seen your pretty face and pretty smile, and it's fukkin hawt.

Do you model?

I completely agree with you on that. I do find it funny that a package monster is bemoaning the logistics team, and laughing when he thought it was they who lost their jobs. Every job matters, and UPS is a good company.

Package monster, lol. Good one. Bemoaning the logistics team? You posted a link implying that UPS teamster jobs are in jeopardy. When in reality it was a bunch logistics guys that were non-union, that have never touched a package that got laid off.

I never implied that Teamster jobs wre in jeopardy. I actually didn't know you were a Teamster, but it all makes sense now.

Do you guys have union vs. non-union dick-slapping fights in the break room? How does that work. It must be empowering to be on the "Team".

I don't mind private unions, though. I'm not paying for them, and more power to you for being a member.

They usually don't hang out around us. They are intimidated easily. They make less with their college degrees.

Being ignorant about how much goes into paying union dues is always a funny take when reading an outsiders perspective. Small price to pay for the amazing benefit package and ridiculous pension package we have. After 15 years we top out at 8 weeks of vacay.

You do have to sweat, though. People with bitch tits rarely make it.

The Teamster model is unsustainable once the shareholders start flexing their muscles. Enjoy it while you can.

Oh ya? In 98' when the Teamsters went on strike it setback the company for a couple years. That was a weeklong strike.

I've been to the UPS distribution center on Swan Island plenty of times. I made a shitload of money selling the replacement for your power station.

There are plenty of bitch tits running around that place, fwiw. Let's not pretend that you're all some sort of stud athletic squad.

Ah, '98, when the markets were propped up on the tech model.

Package car is a little different than your average package handler.

Unions are going to crumble....

Haha, Conservatives have been spewing that same bull shit for years.

thats why conservatives demonize teachers, policemen, and firemen, not to mention war vets

because they are ruining america

You sell power, thats awesome!!

Its really funny that neo-con's think that doing away with the middle class is a sound move. D'oh!

The turnover rate is 80%, and UPS still functions. I rest my case about those workers being easy to replace.

As of the last contract part-timers don't get benefits until after a year and they're talking about doing away with Earn and Learn. The company is going to shoot itself in the foot. They keep this up they won't be able to get away with it because there will be no difference between starting at McDonald's or UPS.

Yeah... where could they possibly find more people to move boxes around and drive a truck?

the trucks don't just *drive* themselves. its a big job, might have to take 2 or 3 guys to turn that key. its really complicated. :MARIS61:

Shhh ... don't use logic.

I do find it encouraging and pro-market that human robots can make $100k/year, though.

Yeah, that was my point. And again, I think it's great the you can make good money helping commerce work efficiently. I find the Teamster vs. non-Teamster stuff to be counterproductive for a long-term model, though. Ultimately, it's the UPS shareholders that will matter, and clearly there is some weakness in the union at this point. Why make concessions if you have the strength?

You should stick to NBA Draft threads. You handle boxes and are a union lackey. We need this as a country, at least in terms of the "handle boxes" part. It's not going to happen for you, and they're selling you a bill of goods that they won't be able to deliver.

Haha, if only you knew about what you talk about. It would help out in terms of discussion. It must get your goat that someone with a just high school education could possibly make more than you.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/halahto...mericans-wealth-net-worth-down-40-in-3-years/

Just how bad have the last three years been for some Americans? A Fed survey has some brutal data today showing that both median family income and net worth dropped dramatically over the last three years.

The median family net worth dropped a staggering 40% to $77,300 in 2010 from $126,400 in 2007, the Fed said in its Survey of Consumer Finances which is released every three years. The median family income dropped as well from $49,600 in 2007 to $45,800, or a 7.7% drop.

Middle-class families faced the brunt of the declines with those in the 60th to 80th percentile of income seeing a 40.4% drop in net worth from $215,700 to $128,600. Families with a net income in the the 20th to 39.9th percentile of income saw a 35.4% drop in net worth from $39,600 to $25,600.

And this is THE problem. People who believe statements like this to be true are the problem and not part of the solution. As soon as we dispense with crap nonsense like this on behalf of partisan political viewpoints, then we can start to move forward as a nation. But until then, short sighted views like this prevail and are the root cause of all our problems in this country.

The gap between OR & U.S. unemployment is closing. Oregon's rate is at 8.4 percent, U.S. rate at 8.2 percent
