WTF? Ignore the 500 lb beast in front of you? Not to mention the 10T in additional debt...
When we finally take China to task seriously for copyright infringement, they'll end up owing us money and decades of royalties...they didn't play fair in the trade world at all...still don't. The China US relationship is probably the most dangerous thing we face moving ahead...the US has forgiven debt all over the world ..... we basically had to shore up the country from total collapse and when Obama took office he said it would take several decades to heal the damage...he's right but folks think there's a quick fix ...it's a long term reconstruction period we're faced with and it's not because of the last 7 plus years of administration...it's because the two terms previous to Obama...they weren't paying any fucking attention

Thanks Obama!

Only a few more weeks and (hopefully) no more lies.

Every president lies, Trump will especially be no different...actually I take that back Trump will just do all of the abhorrent things he is going to do in our faces because he can

He inherited most of the debt from Bush. It was either pay up or watch the economy go even farther down the tubes. I'm not happy Obama bailed those assholes out but he was between a rock and a hard place. Basically it was a no win situation. Thanks Bush! Funny how the Republicans conveniently ignore that. And want to return to the ways and days that led to the problem. And I realize you (or at least your wife) got fucked on the health care thing. But other than that, in what other specific way did the Obama administration adversely affect your own personal life? How did MarAzul's....or Denny Crane's....or Mag's or Blue32's daily lives change??? I am genuinely curious......Bush actions totally tanked my investments. Obama's actions brought them back. So what's your excuse?

He added $9 x 10^12. That's 9 followed by 12 zeros. Don't blame Bush for what Obama deliberately did.

There were much better options, but Obama wanted to spend, spend, spend. And he did.

I have dozens of friends who lost their health coverage, thanks Obama.

I have several friends who lost their homes because they went underwater. Thanks Obama bailout.

I just hope it isn't lies for personal political gain (or personal gain). Seen enough of that the past 8 years and in the Clinton campaign.

you should take your anger and redirect it ...bankers, stock brokers and realtors particularly...this all snowballed under Bush's watch...reconstruction is expensive...sorry about your friends losses though...that sucks...I had friends lose their homes under Reagan..

My biggest Obamagrets I have is that this man had every opportunity to truly make positive change and instead used the power to push his progressive agenda.

Mine is that over both terms he never attended a Blazers game

That is why he ran for president...for personal gain

Bush Administration Tried to Reform Freddie and Fannie Five Years Ago
By | February 19, 2009 | 10:40 AM EST

A Google search brings up the following Sept. 11, 2003 New York Times article, which shows the Bush administration was aware of potential lending problems and did try to do something about it:

The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.

Under the plan, disclosed at a Congressional hearing today, a new agency would be created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry.

The new agency would have the authority, which now rests with Congress, to set one of the two capital-reserve requirements for the companies. It would exercise authority over any new lines of business. And it would determine whether the two are adequately managing the risks of their ballooning portfolios.

The plan is an acknowledgment by the administration that oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- which together have issued more than $1.5 trillion in outstanding debt -- is broken. A report by outside investigators in July concluded that Freddie Mac manipulated its accounting to mislead investors, and critics have said Fannie Mae does not adequately hedge against rising interest rates.

But yeah, blame Bush. Or maybe.... those obstructionist democrats

Rep. Gregory Meeks, a New York Democrat, said at that Sept. 25, 2003 House Financial Services Committee hearing that he was “pissed off at OFHEO (Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight),” because of the agency’s suggestion that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac should be regulated more closely. A number of other Democrats agreed there was no need for reform.

What is your definition of "positive change" and how did his "progressive agenda" affect you personally? And why condemn those who fear Trump's agenda (whatever that might be in the end) as "losers"? The Right didn't exactly go quietly into that good night when Obama was elected, especially the first time. And if you didn't see a progressive agenda coming at that time, you must have been sound asleep. He tried to do what he promised to do, despite being thwarted at every turn. Let's see if Donny even attempts to do what HE promised to do.....

He tried to do what he promised to do, despite being thwarted at every turn

Nope he had a free run and did it without needing a Rep. vote. I knew he was going to cost me (and millions of others) my health care and he did.
No Thwart what so ever.

Let's see if Donny even attempts to do what HE promised to do.....

He better or the Deplorables will ride him out of there on the first opportunity.

"Positive change" is making changes that help the collective of the country. Not a small portion of it. Keep in mind that the middle class is still the majority of this country and they were completely ignored for the last 16 years.

I remember Barney Frank fighting them tooth and nail.

Commentary: From debt to jobs, Obama failed to deliver

Shortly after being sworn into office in January 2009, President Obama, along with Democrats in Congress, spent trillions of dollars on government bailouts, stimulus packages, and various social welfare programs - all passed with the promise they would reverse one of the most significant economic crashes the country has experienced.

After nearly eight years in office, though, Obama has failed to deliver on many of his campaign promises and has left America worse-off than it was when he entered the White House.

During the Obama administration, there hasn't been a single year in which the nation's gross domestic product grew at 3 percent or higher, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service. That's a first for a modern president.
