:dunno:

Is anything real with this President?

The photos are now widespread online and in newspapers, images of a confident President Obama striding toward the camera to announce the killing of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan.

Not so widespread, however, is the news that the photos weren’t from Obama’s actual history-making speech. According to a Reuters blog post, the photos were taken after Obama’s actual announcement, during a brief reenactment minutes later.

Jason Reed, a photographer, wrote: “As President Obama continued his nine-minute address in front of just one main network camera, the photographers were held outside the room by staff and asked to remain completely silent. Once Obama was off the air, we were escorted in front of that teleprompter and the President then re-enacted the walk-out and first 30 seconds of the statement for us.”

I wonder how many takes Obama will need to run his victory lap at Ground Zero tomorrow for the optimal media photo?

The only bigger trophy for Obama would if he had a football with OBL's face on it and spiked it into the ground.

President Obama was pretty big on stagecraft at Harvard. Which more people would know if his college records and transcripts were made public.

Seems like the Situation Room photo was staged as well, at least according to Leon Panetta.

As I said, only the Obama Administration could botch the aftermath of killing Osama bin Laden.

The head of the CIA admitted yesterday that there was no live video footage of the raid on Osama bin Laden's compound as further doubts emerged about the US version of events.

Leon Panetta, director of the CIA, revealed there was a 25 minute blackout during which the live feed from cameras mounted on the helmets of the US special forces was cut off.

A photograph released by the White House appeared to show the President and his aides in the situation room watching the action as it unfolded. In fact they had little knowledge of what was happening in the compound.

Ridicule and sarcasm seem to be the only verbal weapons you're left with these days.

Alinsky would be proud.

You've got to wonder why there was a photographer in the situation room in the first place.

Take Two!

"Hey you, Mr. President. Yeah, you, the guy wearing the golf shirt with the wind-breaker over it that we just pulled off of the golf course. You go sit on that upside down garbage can in the corner while this historic assassination is happening. Let's leave the open laptops and the real chairs for Gates, Hillary, Biden, and that gray-haired guy!"

Oh my god! The president posed for pictures!

This is unknown in the annals of history, a shocking, shocking discovery.

Is that a "it's Bush's fault" thing, or a "it's OK because Bush did it too" thing?

When Obama promised to have transparency in his administration, I don't think this is what we had in mind.

So if the same intelligence community that found and killed OBL is against releasing the photo they should because some people think they should?

All Presidential photos are staged. It's always been that way.

They always photoshopped the horns out of Bush's photos too.

Could be worse, could be a presidential glamor shot

I don't see why the photo should be classified "top secret" or require some security clearance to see. What's to lose by releasing it?

I'm OK with the govt. having secrets, but it seems like there should be a real compelling govt. interest in having such secrets.

How is this a secret, they held a press conference saying OBL is dead. If you felt left in the dark you can now breath easy. The guy is dead.

I bet you would settle for a cartoon though right?

The picture is being kept secret. We have this concept of FOIA to require govt. to release documents like the photo.

It's not like some undercover secret agent is going to have his cover blown (example of compelling govt. interest) if the photo is released.

Hey, McCain won the last election. Really. They counted the votes, but they're not going to say what the vote was, just that McCain won. Why should anyone question it or want to see the documentation?
