...but the amount of money bet is not the only factor.

59-
Please excuse me this morn, must of been the sleep time herbs of last night.....seriously It's all I can do to think straight this morn.......

what do you mean about the other factor(s)....? Help me out if you can/may....! Thanx....!

BTW- what's your Okra Yield expectations for this summer?

right...over time, the ratio of (money lost)/(money bet) approaches 1.

Uh, I know so.

If you have a more important factor than money, I'd like to know.....because any other factor would/SHOULD be taken into account by the "bettors"....and the odds (makers) will once again be adjusted according to the MONEY being bet as a result of "other factors".

Please tell me about other factors so we don't run around in circles. Lol

...why should I do your homework for you?...and try actually reading and comprehending what I said.

I went back and read, and yep, comprehend your thread, no problem. I see now what your saying, there are several factors, like you said, as Vegas Odds change over periods of time, during the Season.........due to more than one factor.......!

(I could not think straight yesterday to save my ass)........:confused::doh:

Wasn't looking for an argument or anything. jeez
I am aware there are "factors" which contribute to creating "odds".

All I was saying is regardless of which "factors" come into play, the oddsmakers will act accordingly and these "odds" are what is used in wagering.....and what is being wagered?
Crackers? Cookies?

Point spreads in football can change - the number can go higher or lower depending.....maybe weather, late injury....

Am I wrong?

I'm staying out of this.

Actually Rick, now that a new season is upon us...lol.....I would welcome your opinion.
I guess you've read our previous replies and exchanges -
Who first became confrontational, snide and stand-off-ish?

It's okay, the big bad wolf isn't going to eat MY dinner.

I always thought - regardless of HOW MANY factors are involved, odds makers will asjust accordingly and the bottom line (ODDS) is set.....

And what is being wagered?

I would've never guessed someone would try and make an issue out of this.

whew!

...well, make up your freaking mind...and this kind of shit wouldn't happen.

1. I stated that " the amount of money bet is not the only factor."

2. you promptly asked "Please tell me about "other factors" so we don't run around in circles."

3. now you say that you are "aware there are "factors" which contribute to creating "odds".

...if you already knew about the "factors", why did you ask me to tell you about them?...Jesus tap-dancing Christ.

...wait, are you seriously acting like you've somehow taken the high road here?... you can just stop with the "what, who me?" routine.

Here's what I know (believe) -
Generally, most "bettors" who wager MONEY on gambling, will also TRY and weigh different FACTORS before placing or making a bet ON THE ODDS which are set by odds makers who also take into account "factors".

Or maybe you thought I believed the "ODDS" just appeared out of the sky?

Go ahead, have the last word. I'm already tired.......over and out.

...lol...again, so you already knew about "other factors" before asking me to explain them to you?

...this shit is hilarious.

Honestly the reason I choose to stay out of it is because, as brilliant as I am when it comes to baseball I must plead total ignorance when it comes to odds & betting.

I plead the 5th, and literally AM Claiming the High Road.....or Up In Smoke.....!

It certainly is.
Go back and read posts 20, 23 and 27 and call it a day will ya?

...told you several times before, reading your drivel once is enough...no need to read it again, just because you can't seem to get your shit together.

...rather than taking a page out of your maniacal book and inconveniencing you by asking you to go back and sift through things that have already been said, I'll simply repost it here;

1. I stated that " the amount of money bet is not the only factor."

2. you promptly asked "Please tell me about "other factors" so we don't run around in circles."

BTW....the wiki on making a book is pretty good from the mathematics and probability perspective on odds setting.

...yup, there's all sorts of things that go into setting/adjusting the odds...they've pretty much got it down to a science. The odds/point spread can also fluctuate during the week/month/year depending the weather, injuries, coaching decisions, etc.

...odds from another sporting event...odds of winning go from 50:1 to 40:1 in a week and a day later go to 25:1 ?

By Now Ricks at a 2:1 odds, he's having sex with Joan Rivers right this moment.....

Now that's a haunting thought to visualize.......I bet 1:1; Joan is bald under those wigs, or only has a couple of wild hairs on her head, and shaves her beard twice daily....Fact: only Rick would know..........

Only Rick knows, he was poking Phyliss Diller, He's a greater than < 80s guy.....

^^^not to mention, she's also dead.

...but hey, if rick is into Necrophilia, who am I to judge? :devilwink:

Hey guys i'm in the room you know, and if i'm doing any 80 year old's #1 she'll be alive & #2 it'll be my fantasy woman growing up Sophia Loren.
