Oden (maybe) back this season?

I would guess 100% healed with a lot of tests to make sure he'd be ready for NBA games. For instance he'd have to practice 5v5 full contact first before he plays in a game obviously.

As far as the math, I got about April 4th, which is still two weeks before the playoffs start, which is good news. He'd have to make some huge strides in those two weeks to prove he is ready for the playoffs I would imagine. After the 8 weeks of rehabilitation I'm not sure how the Blazers intend on taking it from there or how ready he'll be, so really it's just a guess. As we get closer to that date the more we'll know how it's going to be handled and what exactly he'll be able/allowed to do.

The good news is that it's actually possible he will be back playing basketball by the start of the play-offs. Not probable, but possible. And, that's good news to me.

I'm not a doctor, so I'm not positive I understand how a gassed 10mpg of Oden (with a doctor-cleared, totally-healthy knee) isn't a huge positive. It's not like we don't have room to put him in a uniform and make an opposing coach think. And in a 7-game series? He can't get some run? We're playing Juwan Howard and Jeff Pendergraph at the 5 right now. They're playing pretty well. My opinion is that an out-of-shape Oden is still >> an in-shape Pendergraph at the 5 for however many minutes he can be in.
