This sentence actually works whether your are talking about Oden OR Batum.

Neither has played a full season healthy. Both will be up for extensions soon.

Why would any team want either player?[/QUOTE]

This is a question that no GM in the league would ever ask of themselves.

I know ABM. Not in the biblical sense, you understand, but we're friends. And he's a "Blazer Annie". Does that make me important?

The guys not saying he's important for fucks sake.

He types the word "peeps" and everyone goes crazy. It's probably the least important word in his post.

And as far as I'm concerned knowing ABM does infact make you important. At least twice as important as someone with Real GM in their bookmarks.

It seems like the majority want CP3 but don't want to give up Batum and Oden.

My question is, why the HELL would NO want him? He hasn't played a full season and he is up for an extension. My peeps have told me CLEV is interested if the Blazers don't re-sign him by next year. I know he is a RFA. But CLEV may over pay to get a local kid.

I just don't see NO getting into a big contract with someone who is risky at best. If they shed Okafor I doubt they invest in Greg.

I think the Blazers will sweeten the pot w/ 2-3 1st RND picks including the usual suspects.
I agree. Especially since I already posted similar comments yesterday.

I appologize Masbee, I didn't see your comments. I really think if Oden had his wishes he would like to be in the Midwest. I do know he has made a lot friends here his age but he is just a big kid at heart.

Props to you. I doubt NO wants to take on the risk that Portland has had to do so far. Extending someone on potential is not a smart move for a team that is struggling like NO.

I also think our chances are better w/ Cho because I think he can propose a deal with number$ in mind. This is what his stated strength is, so we'll see.

No worries, I was just being a smartass. There are lots of repeat posts in this forum.

He can dazzle them with his spreadsheet prowess.

"I have got a REALLY BIG spreadsheet to show you guys."

I like Oden, but I'd do Miller, Przybilla, Oden, Batum, and Rudy for CP3 and Peja (contract). Preferably not Batum though...

Paul, Roy, Batum, Aldridge, Camby is EPIC win.

epic win for 1-2 years before cp3 bounces to NY and camby retires

I wouldn't do that trade. I'm really not sure we would be any better and still our best chance to win a championship is if Oden actually stays healthy and is one of the top centers in the league. We might as well stick with Oden even though his health is a big problem. Even though CP3 is great he wouldn't get us a championship without Oden and not even Batum. Plus I have a feeling he would leave for the Knicks, Magic or Heat in a couple years. Maybe if CP3 agreed to extend his contract before we traded for him It might make me reconsider but probably not.

Well my peeps laughed at what your peeps claimed, saying its completely false, and they tell me that the Blazers are close to accepting an offer that includes three teams and has CP3 coming to Portland, Brandon Roy going to the Lakers, and Pau Gasol going to New Orleans. The other pieces are still being worked out, but those are the 3 big ingredients. They tell me that Rich Cho is not impressed with Brandon, considers him overrated, and thinks by getting CP3, the Blazers should win at least 5-10 more games next season and make it to the NBA Finals. Cho is also high on Rudy Fernandez, who will likely get the vacant starting position to give him more playing time so that he'll stay with the team.
