I'm with you. Don't like Carter-Williams at all as a prospect.

Official draft night hat for those interested:
Not a fan. But I could see someone like Chuck D or Kool Keith pulling this off - has a late-80s/early-90s rap vibe. (But the underside of the bill is horrendous...unless you wear it Mars-style.)

It is clear Oladipo is becoming a Wolves priority, even if it means paying handsomely to move up to ensure getting him

Well, Cleveland have made it clear they'll give up the #1 for Kevin Love...

"Lumbering" is the adjective that springs to mind. "Get a fucking haircut" is the imperative that does also. (And let it be clear that I have nothing against long hair: but that is BAD hair.)

That map adds up to ~40 per year. Either quite a few are unaccounted for or there are a lot more international players being drafted than I would have guessed. I suppose 20 per year is reasonable with second rounders, though.

Is that basically a population density map?

Not really. California is 11th in population density and Texas is 26th:

I think you meant total population map:

But even that doesn't correlate all that well with the draft pick map. Based on total population, Georgia and Washington do much better than expected. Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania should all be doing much better than Indiana. And Kentucky is totally getting their ass kicked by just about everyone - including Oregon, but especially by neighboring Tennessee.

And, if that 32 is pointing to Maryland is totally rocking at 19th in total population with 32 draft picks.

I think I can name all three from Alaska:
Boozer, Chalmers, Trajan Langdon - am I right?

I think you meant total population map
You're right - I did.
I didn't expect it to correlate exactly, but I think that largely population - or at least large urban populations - explains the map. Seattle though does seem to have a knack for creating more NBA players than your average city.

Dude, my cawk is more gurthy than his arms.

I not going to even compare Noel to Durant (that would be silly and if I was picking first he wouldn't be my pick) but I will say that Durant couldn't even lift the bar once on the 185 pound bench press and we know how he turned out.

Yeah but Noel needs to be strong playing underneath. Durant doesn't playing out on the perimeter.

Noel looks like he is lifting there to me unless it is for show. I would bet Durant could lift it at least 8 times if you tested him today. Adding strength is easy in the NBA especially when you are drafted high because the trainers can lose their job if you don't improve.

so I haven't gone to a gym to workout in a long time, but how's he supposed to bring that down to his chest?

I agree with you. He can get stronger. My point was they play two different types of positions. Durant really didn't need to get much stronger. But Noel absolutely has to.

His knee doesn't look right, even with the swelling.

That lower leg doesn't look right, at all. Looks like it's bent.
I'd be staying well clear of this guy in the draft at any position - let alone the top three picks.

You guys are busy talking about how skinny his arms are and haven't even mentioned how it looks like they left a fucking toaster in his knee when they sewed him up!

He's not. It's just short resistance. From there up and back. Note that those are not 45 lbs plates, but 25 pounders.

Make sure it doesn't fall on his multi-million $ body. This was taken with a wide angle lens, but what size shoe does he wear.

You could see the talent in Durant right away but he got abused his first year by many players. He did have to get stronger. And he did.

I was thinking the exact same. His feet look huge.

Btw, Len was already in town -- why did the blazers keep that so hush-hush? When Joel freaking Freeland was in town to sign his contract and to take his physical the media was there in force.

Easier to keep quiet when it was just an interview. He can't workout. It wasn't that hush hush though. Some sites reported it.
