Chad Ford has Marcus Smart shooting up his draft board.

Btw, who is his new #1 on the big board?

I've said it before. But, he's the #1 SG in this draft. Not Bazz, not McLemore. It's Smart.

Not because Chad Ford told me. I've realized this with my real eyes.

BTW, Voodoo, do you still think Brandon Paul is a better prospect than Olynyk?

No, of course not. Not with the way Olynyk's been playing and the way Paul is shooting himself out of the draft... but I'm not really as high on Olynyk as you are though. I'd really like to see him show more in the post.

He's got better post moves than you think. Him and Harris have that reverse pivot down pat.

WTF happened to James McAdoo? He showed so much promise last year and it seems like he's regressed. Or maybe just not living up to the hype that I had for him.

Wow, I'm watching the Oklahoma St./Oklahoma game and Smart just made a ridiculous fadeaway jumpshot off the glass for a 3 point play to take the lead.

For some reason I was never impressed with him. I didn't see anything special about him except his drive, and that only gets you so far.

Smarts will be like the Charles Barkeley of PG's in the NBA.

One of the things I like most about Smart is he lays it out on the line every game. He has that Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Reggie Miller type competitive drive.

I'm on his bandwagon, too.

Barkley? I'm thinking more of Bonzi Wells with a brain -- a power guard.

He has a legit post game.

Bonzi from a talent standpoint was one of the most underrated Blazers ever.

I said Barkley of Guards.

Deepest ever draft as far as SG's go.

If I had a top 5 pick, I'd take Oladipo or Smart over McLemore or Mohammed.

Really? Both of them over Shabazz? Is that b/c of fit for us, or b/c of play in the last few weeks?

Oladipo's been playing this way all season long, not just the last few weeks.

He's really made huge leaps in his game since last season though. I'm not sure anyone really expected him to be this great, even Big 10 fans.

Dick Vitale's gone senile comparing him to Jordan though. That's just lazy broadcasting. You can tell he hasn't really been in touch with the game in years.

well, I'll believe you guys that can watch the games. It seemed earlier this year that Oladipo was destined to be a slightly-smaller Wes Matthews when he got to the league...great defender, high motor, can work to maybe make a few 3pointers for you at a high clip, straight-line dribble only, etc. He did look really good in transition. But the last game I saw was in DEC, and similar to MM's Syracuse thoughts, I think that guards from UCLA are going to have depressed offensive stats but a pretty good feel for the game when they leave Ben's tutelage.

Oladipo can create like Wes Matthews can only dream of. Mohammed is solid, but overhyped IMO. The guy is so left-handed dominate that I don't think he'll be able to get away with it as much at the next level.

Hey, I'm not making any statements on Oladipo vs. Muhammad myself. I still really like Shabazz Muhammad. The thing about the collegiate game is that it's so fluid that it's hard to make absolute judgments on teams or players while the season's still going on, and Oladipo is a good example of that.

A projected top-10 pick in 2014, he'd be an interesting prospect this year if you're in the late lotto.

McLemore and Smart in Double OT right now. They've been locking each other up, both having horrible games from the field. But, Smart has gotten to the line and scored despite being banged up in the game.

Chad Ford said many see McLemore/Smart as the #1/#2 picks in this draft and after watching them go head-to-head - "That is why most scouts are depressed about this draft."

If you're in the mid-lotto do you gamble on "potential" or do you take a guy that you know has a skill that will translate?

Factor that in and Olynyk is climbing my draft board. I really like his ability to score. Despite giving Mick shit about his Slavko Vranes-esque leaping ability, I think he can be an Scola-like scorer from the high-post.

-Oladapo
-Olynyk
-Burke
-McCollum

Does anyone have the latest on C.J. McCollum? Last I heard, he was 50/50 on trying to come back for the Patriot League tournament.

BTW - Interesting to note that Lehigh was 9-4 with McCollum and is 10-3 without him.

Can anybody who actually knows enough to make an educated opinion (which means "not me") list 12 players in this draft that you'd be happy to see the Blazers draft in the lotto? Based on the little I've seen, I think the following would be good additions to our existing roster (in order of DX mock list):

Noel
McLemore
Muhammad
Zeller
Austin
Smart
Oladipo
Gobert
Poythress
Porter
McCollum
Olynyk

The fact that I can name 12 players that I think I would be happy with makes me feel pretty good about this year's draft.

I don't understand the McCollum hype with McFezzersticks.

He's a combo guard who can create his own shot and is deadly from deep. Seems like someone we could use.

That's the guy I'm trying to find out more about. I've read his profile on DraftExpress and I've seen some of his highlights, but there's no real substitute to actually watching the guy play, and I don't think any of us have actually gotten a chance to see him play in a full game, because he wasn't on the French national team.

I wish there were more Euroleague games broadcasted. At the very least, it'd be cool to get Liga ACB games on tv. Hell, you can find an Alabama A&M game on some of these obscure channels, why not a FC Barcelona vs. Real Madrid game?

I guess I'm the minority that fits into that niche market, but it'd be cool to watch, not only for all of the future NBA prospects, but also all of the great college players and NBA flame-outs that wound up over there.
