Why even post this? Durant's not coming here. His team where he is at is already better, they can pay him more. We aren't a destination. We already passed on him in the draft

I know in all odds, Durant will not be a Blazer, I just hope he stays there in OKC or goes somewhere besides GS

I think Neil will go after Horford and Whiteside out of the gates...

Dame is a better compliment to KD than Westbrook. CJ is a big upgrade over Roberson. Our bench is a LOT better. They have the advantage with Ibaka but the advantages Kanter has offensively over Plumlee is negated by his defensive problems.
Take off your rose garden....er moda center colored glasses

I know people aren't going to like this (I don't even like thinking it) but I believe our best chance of getting to the WCF in the future is due to internal growth (ie, our current players all improving). It might be a little depressing but I don't see us getting a guy who is an All-Star this off-season.

Monroe for peanuts in a trade is probably the best chance we have and the guy has never been a true star. Kanter (even though most people hated it at the time) would have been a great get for us.

Now that isn't to say we can't (or won't) be better in the future. I think it is going to take trades though to get there. Someone besides Dame or CJ needs to improve a lot (or show a lot of promise) so we can flip that person for a true difference-maker down the line. Most likely this person would be Vonleh. And maybe at the point we will just want to keep him though.

P.S. Still think we will be very good team in two seasons regardless!

I agree with this for the most part...Neil may go after a big name or a couple of guys we arent really even thinking about on here, but by the end of the summer, the team will be mostly the guys we have now...it takes time for players to colesce, to become their best selfs
...I like that the chemistry is already there, the will and desire to win is there...the Blazers are going to come into next season with a chip on their shoulder...and destroy

Does Larry Sanders have any interest in coming back? Man, his defensive numbers are just off the charts. Would be an amazing story if we could revive his interest in basketball.

What do you like about Harrison Barnes though? I've never been impressed with him when we played the Warriors.

Thanks for asking. I like that he was a top level HS player, and really good College player from a good program (UNC). I like that he has prototypical size for SF. I like that he is an above average shooter, maybe even elite. I like that he can post up people of equal or lesser size than him. He's physical and athletic and plays pretty long.

I think/guess that he is UNDER utilized playing for GSW. He doesn't get enough opportunities to score in that system, but when he is called upon....he seems to come through. I also think/guess that he might be a player who could have tremendous UPSIDE (think Wes Matthews) once given more of a role or chance to produce with a team like Blazers. I believe he would be an upgrade over our current tandem of SF's and would prefer him taking all of those 3's that Aminu gets regularly.

He is RFA GS will resign him

Harrison Barnes is posting up CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard this series and throwing up garbage fade-aways. How does that inspire confidence? Not like they haven't needed him with Curry out for most the postseason either.

The only positive Barnes has is that he hits timely shots in the clutch. Other that that... Poor man's Caron Butler

Somebody needs to start making gifs of Chiefs chest bumps after he makes huge plays. Dude plays with that fire and intensity that you've gotta love as a fan.
He's our version of Bruce Bowen...3 and D guy who plays bigger than he is

I fucking love aminu. I really don't understand why he gets so much hate. Before the season started, Stotts said that he was going to try to have aminu do more things this year than he ever has (ball handling, driving, passing, etc.). So while his turnovers were annoying at the beginning of the season, it was for developmental reasons, and now he really knows what he needs to work on during the offseason. Ball handling, driving, and shooting. (And now defensive schemes)

The same goes for dame, early in the year he was trying a lot of passes that he would've never made in the past, and people were out for his head. But I guarantee all those turnovers benefitted the team in the long run.

I disagree. They have so many other large contracts (Curry, Thompson, Green) and they need to re-sign Ezeli this summer as well. They probably let go of Bogut after his contract is up and use Ezeli in the starters role to keep it going.

So.....I predict....they let Barnes go and don't match contract.

I love a guy who steps it up int he playoffs like he does!

He had Brian Roberts on him in the post and couldn't convert. I still can't believe he hit that shot in Game 4 ... Some team is going to have serious buyer's remorse this summer. Let's hope it's not us.

Crabbe is going to get paid.

I could see him starting somewhere. Really hope we bring him back though.

It won't be. Aminu completely outplayed Barnes this series.

I would not mind seeing him start for us. If the Blazers decide they want a 3 &D SF, Crabbe with his 6'11 1/4" wing span is long enough IMO. But it really does't make any difference who starts, it's all about who finishes. And Crabbe has shown he is a clutch shooter. He is a keeper.

New plan! (Trying to be realistic)

Trade Vonleh for Monroe straight across.

Let Hendo, Roberts, and Kaman walk.

Sign Vasquez (3/27).

Have Meyers sign the qualifying offer sheet since he is hurt and idk if teams will offer him anything huge, he needs a breakout season in the worst way to build his value, may as well be in Portland.

Go over the cap for Crabbe and Harkless.

Sign a vet like Matt Barnes maybe for super cheap *ducks head*

Dame / Vasquez
CJ / Crabbe / Montero / Pat
Harkless / Barnes
Aminu / Davis / Alexander
Monroe / Plumlee / Meyers

I love dame and CJ but if that's our backcourt we must get a rim protector. Larry Sanders would be amazing but who knows about his situation so besides durant, we should also pursue whiteside and yes, even dwight.
