After 66 games into the schedule the Blazers currently sit 40-26, 14 games above .500 and 3rd Place in the Western Conference, and padding ourselves with a bit of a cushion. With 16 games remaining, the Blazers will likely need to win 1o games to keep this 3 seed spot. If we could go 10-6 the rest of the way, we would finish the season with 50 wins. This looked like a tougher feat a week ago, but now looks very attainable. Looking more like 51-52 wins now, though alot of tough teams still ahead.

By the way, Portland is in 5th place overall in the NBA.

Also, where's Bendy? Didn't he make the transition from O-Live? I think he predicted something like 36 wins over there. Nice guy but a little too pessimistic season after season for my taste.

After 72 games into the schedule the Blazers currently sit 44-28, 16 games above .500 and 3rd Place in the Western Conference. A 13 game win streak has propelled us into the national media talks about being a dark horse spoiler and potential contender, sitting just a tier below the two top dogs, GSW and HOU. It is becoming clear that with some more internal growth and a move or two for one more play maker, vet role player, we might just put us on that same tier.

With 10 games remaining, the Blazers will likely need to win 6 games to keep this 3 seed spot. If we could go 6-4 the rest of the way, we would finish the season with 50 wins. This looked like an easier feat a week ago, but looks to be trying, as we have just lost two in a row at home against contenders.

Let's take a look at who we have left....

Tonight we play OKC, we have owned them this year, but they don't want to be swept and are fighting for position themselves... and it's at their house. This will be a very tough game. If we want to show the rest of the West that we can beat them in the first round, we will need to take some road games coming up, so to me, this is a must win for confidence factors. A three game losing streak can quickly snowball if we don't pull this one out.

Sunday we play the Pelicans, who just got smoked by Houston themselves. Another must win to show the teams below us, they are not on our level.

Then we have 4 winnable games against the Clips, Mavs and Griz x 2 over the next week, but that's where it ends. It is ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE, we take 3 of these four games if not all four if we want to hold on to the 3rd seed.

The last 4 games are against playoff teams or teams fighting at the doorstep. Houston, Spurs, Nuggets and we end the season against the Jazz, who look like they might be on our heels by then. Our seeding may just come down to this game!!!

What's even more relevant is, assuming the Blazers make the playoffs and the Clippers don't, Portland will be tied with Toronto for the fourth longest active playoff streak at 5 seasons. ATL (10 seasons) and MEM (7 seasons) have already had their strings of consecutive playoff appearance snapped.
