That fricken SUCKS! I want to see him playing WITH Nurk.

Olshey said they will play together vs bigger lineups. Plus once Stotts sees his athleticism I don't think he'll hesitate to play him next to nurk even more.

Collins has to beat out Vonleh to start next to Nurk and that would be an accomplishment for him as a rookie...this season the game will be fast for him..Chief would frustrate him with defense too.

The league might be going small but bigs give golden state trouble. They were fortunate that Gobert and nurkic were both injured. They still would've won but ya. Instead of trying to match up with them, I'd rather force them to match up with us. A potential nurk/Collins combo would give them fits. Draymond is a great defender but he would be stretched against nurk and Collins.

Yeah, good points from everyone. I don't want to see Leonard at all, but didn't even think about the backup part. Maybe Phys Ed will get back to his old form.... Still, overall I like what I see! Back to the top of the rollercoaster.....

Does anyone know of a website that shows the draft with the teams/players matched up after all the trades are complete?

I checked ESPN & DX and both show the Kings logo next to Zach.
I'd like to see who ended up with which teams without going through all the trade reports to figure it out.

Happy with our draft, stoked for Collins. After Isaac, he was the one player in the draft I wanted for us.

When's Summer League? Quarterman, Connaughton, Layman, Swanigan and Collins makes for a fun starting 5!

Bilas says he thinks Zach Collins is going to be a star.

The Cavs are trash. Lebron is a fraud. Durant is the best player in the NBA and the reigning Finals MVP with more Bill Russell trophies to come. The Cavs are lucky that Curry was injured last year with a sprained MCL/knee, Draymond got suspended for game 5, Bogut missed the last two and a half games due to a dirty play from JR Smith, and Iguodala's back gave out in the middle of the series. The Warriors would have a three-peat right now if it wasn't for the suspension and injuries. Enjoy the Warriors championship dynasty. 2 championships in 3 years with more to come. The NBA belongs to the Warriors for the next 5 years. The Warriors are going to become the first team since the 1965-1969 Celtics to win 4 championships in 5 years.

Derrick White and Jaron Blossomgame are going to be amazing just because Spurs took them, aren't they?

Lol. Yeah probably. Maybe we should just trade for them now. Wonder if they'd consider Leonard.....

Geez, a lot of mocks really over-projected Isiah Hartenstein. Most had him in the first half of the first round.

Still can't believe we passed on Bell. Elite defense is what this team needs most.

He's probably no better than Aminu defensively. He's got virtually no jump shot, no post moves. He's also not much of a post defender.

He also has an issue with not boxing out, which is extremly maddening to coaches. Look at his final game, not boxing out on those FT attempts which lead to back to back NC offensive rebounds.

Well there you have it. I'll trust your opinion more than the Warriirs and everyone giving them an A+ in the draft.

Grading the draft is stupid before you know how good the players are going to be. He was a 2nd rounder. So that shows you what teams thought of him.

It's not an opinion that his offensive game is limited to transition and point blank looks. It's not an opinion that he's undersized and will have problems guarding the post.

Who's this guy?

The draft was probably not the best time to trade Leonard or Davis for picks in this draft, for a couple of reasons.

Yes, our two rookies should make at least one of Leonard and Davis expendable, eventually. However, let’s wait and see how the rookies develop into their roles before we trade a vet away.

Then there is always the injury bug to watch out for. Let’s not leave ourselves short of veteran bigs until the rookies show what they can do, just incase someone gets hurt.

By the trade deadline, we should have some idea of how well the rookies are going to work out, and which players we can trade. Add in other teams that are looking to fill in roster holes dues to injuries, and both Davis and Leonard probably will have more trade value then than now.

Plus trading them for future draft picks reduces our team’s salary more than trading them for a pick in this draft would have.

I like what NO did today. He went after and got the player he wanted, and played it safe the rest of the way. And he left himself reasonable options going forward to improve the team.
I also would like to see Leonard increase his value but I doubt there will be much opportunity for that. I would have favored a trade into this draft because I thought there were so many good players still available in the 2nd round. And the sooner you get a young asset, the sooner you can start improving them.

Here's an interesting breakdown...Collins AND Swanigan in the Top 10:

1. Zach Collins

Power Forward/Center

6-10, 232

Gonzaga

20 years old (11/19/97)

1st in Class of 1997 (+3.23 PPM)

Collins is the best all-around player in the draft, with an elite defensive skill set that makes him both a quality rim protector (4.1 blocks per 40 minutes) as well as a nimble pick-and-roll defender, boasting an individual 79.4 defensive rating (team points allowed per 100 possessions while on-court) at Gonzaga as a freshman. His per-40 points and rebound averages (23.2 and 13.6) forecast offensive production, but it is Collins’ efficiency that has smart GMs swooning over his potential (.703 true shooting percentage, which includes 10-of-21 makes on his occasional three-point shot attempts). It is tough to find fault with a defensive anchor that makes 74 percent of his free throws, 67 percent of his two-point attempts and 48 percent of his college three-pointers.

Weakness: Over-aggressiveness leads to foul trouble (6.2 fouls per 40 minutes).

Since you put so much stock into draft day grades you should be happy about Collins. I've yet so see anyone grade him lower than an A.

would have really liked to get Bolden in the 2nd rd, Philly got him and IMO had a helluva draft

Yeah, Sixers had a stormer. Pasenciks for a top-20 protected 2020 Thunder pick is a huge steal too.

What’s funny is in hindsight Zach probably should’ve went higher.
Ya think? If teams were permitted to re-draft based on this season's performance, what do you think the top 10 would be?

Love Biggie, but a still a bit disappointed OG didn't fall to us. He has 56 starts in 68 games for the
best team in the east (Raptors).

Hmmm, good question. Assuming the order was the same?

1. 76ers- Mitchell
2. Lakers- Tatum
3. Celtics- Z. Collins
4. Suns- Smith Jr.
5. Kings- Markkanen
6. Magic- Kuzma
7. Bulls- Josh Jackson
8. Knicks- Fox
9. Mavs- Isaac
10. Kings- Ntilikina

John Collins probably belongs somewhere as well.
