Jahmius Ramsey is still 18 years old, is 6'4, has elite defensive potential, shot 42.6% last year from 3, has some burst and some potential as a slasher and playmaker IMO. I'm surprised he isn't a consensus lottery pick.

Surprised you have McDaniels so low.
Well it was more that I forgot about him until like literally the very end so I didn’t want to go back and fix it lol. But based on his talent and his potential I would put him at 15. He’s definitely more of a project cause he need to put on at least at least 20 pound. He also have turnover and foul issues. He led the conference in both which is embarrassing. Despite having a good shooting form he shot a disappointing 34% from 3 point land. So there is IQ things he need to work on. With that being said if he work hard and live up to his potential then the front court of Little, McDaniel, and Collins would be so awesome and so much fun to watch. McDaniel got a great chance to be a more offensive minded Johnathan Isaac

Of the guys who might fall to us, Vassell is the only one who excites me. I like Bey's skill set, but wonder if he has the body of an NBA player. Everybody else sounds like a Leonard level project - at best!

If you're talking about Saddiq Bey he's 6'8" with a 7' wingspan. Vassell is shorter, has a smaller wingspan, and weighs at least 20 pounds less than Bey. What am I missing here?

I can only go on what I have read, but many folks seem to question his quickness/reflexes.

Pretty close to saying fuck it and having Nico Mannion in my top 7-10.

Outside of Melo and Hayes the rest of these lead guards (I view Hali as more of a shooting guard, at least in the half court) aren't any more statistically impressive and just believe more in his passing, overall IQ and ability to play on and off ball enough to think he has as good or better shot to be a winning piece on a good team.

Feel like his point of attack defense and speed with and without the ball get pretty underrated as well.

Love the background and personality stuff with him. Dad was an NBA player. Mature. Even keeled on the floor too which I always like in a lead guard.

Main things for him will be continuing to develop his handle as far as creating separation and becoming a real high-level shooter, but he's the type of guy that I feel good about betting on developing.

Really hope he lands in a good spot.

Higher than you thought?
No, I know that some guys on here like him (you?) and so I thought it was interesting that a statistical approach backed up posters' observations. I haven't really been checking out prospects much this year; if we have another mock draft on the forum, I probably will.

Wow, I wouldn't even think of taking him in the top 20 at best.

I just really like Nico's film.

Even when he didnt shoot it well, felt like he led that Arizona team.

I understand I'm pretty alone in this opinion though. Most of draft twitter is pretty low on him as well.

In a draft this weak up top, still willing to take him top 10 and hope the shooting develops.

Has the complementary skills to leverage his strength and ability to get downhill.

Think he can provide value on a good team if the shooting doesn't come around, especially if he ends up on a team that has shooting in the front court.

Having done some YouTube watching, I'm firmly on the SADDIQ BEY bandwagon! So now I can say I've advocated drafting a Villanova player THREE YEARS STRAIGHT! (Jalen Brunson in 2018, Eric Paschal in 2019 and now Bey)

Bonus points to Bey for having had a late growth spurt (like Pippen, Ginobili and Anthony Davis)

If he stays in the draft, I'd be very happy to take YVES PONS with our second rounder:

I like him but he is way too similar to Little. And he’s a year older than Little so Little is already. If we are going after a wing in the 2nd round then I prefer Bolmaro cause he’s a play maker on offensive end which could compliment Little nicely.

I think Bolmaro will be gone by then.
Pons is supposed to be able to guard 1 through 5 and even more athletic (albeit even more raw) than Little. I see him as a modern 4.

True about Bolmaro possibly being gone by then. I think it’s really come down to who we draft in the first round. If we draft a guard or a big in the 1st round then I see Pons being a really good pick for us in the 2nd round. If we draft a wing in the 1st round then Pons doesn’t make sense for us in the 2nd round

Bey doesn't provide enough upside for me. Would make sense for a lot of teams as something as high as the 10th pick, but not for the Blazers. The Blazers need to go with an upside pick (Someone like Jalen McDaniels).

I have a similar thought too. Mine is more that if we were to draft a wing we don’t need one that can play right away since we already have Ariza, Hood, Trent, and even Little all can play the wing right now. So now because we have Trent and Little at the 2 and 3 for the future I would prefer we go with a bigger and high upside combo forward at the 4. I like Jaden and I think Dame can teach him a few lessons like what he did to Nurkic when he came over with his immaturity questions. And I also really like Patrick Williams upside too. So Jaden or Pat would be my choice although I wouldn’t mind Bey or Vassell if we want to draft guys who can contribute right away

Agree to disagree (particularly for McDaniels).

Tyler is interesting if he can actually shoot.
Volume is pretty small but the mechanics are nice. Has the tools and instincts to make plays defensively and be productive on the boards.

Enough question marks and age likely pushes him into the 2nd round though.

Needs to put on some weight and can't really dribble or pass. Defensive fundamentals aren't great. Will have to adjust offensive role / play style as well. Likely doesn't have the size or skill level to play the way he did at Colorado.

I dunno how much this means, but he's ranked 13th in the nation on this defensive metric.

Clearly the best defender on a top 50 defense in the country so he'll rank high on leaderboards like that one.

And I do think he can be a very effective and versatile defender in the nba. Just think he has things he can clean up. Not always in a stance and can get caught helping too far off or in no man's land a bit too often for my liking.

But when he plays with good fundamentals and he's locked in, he stands out as much as any potential big wing defender in this draft.

Perhaps he’s like another Colorado alum Andre Roberson. I would take him in the 2nd round if he’s still available but not in the first round. I feel like Saddiq Bey, Vassell, Patrick Williams, McDaniels, Nesmith, and Bolmaro are all better options than him if we are targeting wings
