The correct answer is BPA.

I don't have much hope for Moses. I'm pessimistic on Little.
I'd like to see a bit more of Hoard & Gabriel before deciding on them.

Out of the entire bunch, Zach & Gary are the only ones who are 'regular rotational' level players. Simons MAY get there, too.

Long story short, Portland is not talented enough to make the decision based on position. They need to go with the best player.
The correct answer is to trade to a spot where the BPA is at a position of need.

Scottie Lewis is growing on me.

Like him best in a small role on a good team. Very similar mentality and strengths/weaknesses to Terrance Ferguson, but I like Scottie's movement / athleticism more and think he's the better shooter.

Terrance's advantages mainly were that I think he knew what he was a bit more and was a more reliable decision maker.

Physically, Terrance is taller but has less length. Scottie actually has an inch reach advantage despite being two inches shorter. Also think his frame is better (slighter wider, especially through lower half).

Think he's decent value if a team can get him outside the top 20. Would take him over Josh Green based on his strengths standing out more at the NBA level.

I've been meaning to watch some Florida footage to check him out. In this draft, he might be a good late 1st canident.

He's a fit guy for sure.

Alongside a dominant creator where he can be strictly a catch and shoot / cutter / transition finisher, he can bring some value offensively, alongside is disruptive perimeter defense.

Swing skills for him will be being better as a team defender, cleaning up his technique in help and recover situations and if he's able to do anything in the half court besides catching and shooting and finishing on cuts.

If he doesn't, he's likely a fringe rotation guy.

I wonder if he'll even come out this year? Defensively he'd probably be able to play fairly soon in the NBA but he's still a project offensively.

For the Blazers one of the problems is that I think Lewis is more suited for a faster paced offense, like Ferguson who you mentioned. The Blazers have played at a faster pace this year than they ever have under Stotts but I think that has been more of a product of being behind a lot more than they are accustomed to which forces them to run more.

Yeah I don't love his fit with us.

Dallas would be a good landing spot I think. Their personnel is better equipped to take advantage of his strengths and hide his weaknesses.

I knew youd fall for this guy lol.

Watched some tape on him a while ago. Looks very mediocre. Another Sergey Karasev.
Oh, hey, it's the draft expert! How's Naz Reid doing this year? Here's what you said about him last year:
Yup. Watching him in high school he seemed raw and a little uncoordinated. Now, he's looked like he's grown into his body and looks much more agile, and now he's making 3s regularly and looks to have touch from 10-15ft. This dude will be a lotto pick IMO. Kinda reminds me of Collins (Albeit, I haven't watched him enough to see how smart of a helpside defender he is but he was touted as a rim protector in high school).

OK, last posting on Leandro Bolmaro for a while, before I start to piss people off. Couple of videos - he's been called up to play on Barca's first team a little bit, and its roster is not too shabby. Here's a familiar face:

And here's an amazing pass to actual NBA player Nicola Mirotic:

Euro clubs very rarely play young guys, particularly top Euroleague teams like Barca (that's why it was so obvious that Doncic was a prodigy) and they've got him playing POINT.

Physically he reminds me a lot of Brent Barry.

The bounce pass was pretty sick.

Wasn't even saying it as a bad thing, just knew you'd like him. I'm not perfect, but at least I don't fall for every single international prospect that ever has a chance at getting drafted.

You're not perfect, but you are drawn to wildly inaccurate generalizations.

One upside of a canceled season: LET'S HAVE THE DRAFT NOW!!! Or at least, as soon as March madness gets canceled (which will be any minute now).

Are you proposing just to use whatever the current draft order is and ignore the lottery? Or have some sort of lottery and then do the draft now?
That is a problem. For example:

Should we pick after the Spurs, Pelicans and Kings because we have a better winning %, or should we pick BEFORE them because we've lost one more game? It's not our fault we've played more games than them!

Since the season is suspended, the draft will have to be postponed. The final draft order isn't known yet.

In our current range who would you target?
I'll throw out a couple names (might be picking them too high).
Precious Achiuwa, Theo Meledon (I'm sure I misspelled that).

Achiuwa for sure. Or move up for Okongwu or Toppin

I don't watch college bball, so I'm the wrong guy to ask. Around draft time I usually look up a bunch of mock drafts and then watch a ton of YouTube, but I'm too busy preparing online classes right now...

I'm so glad over the last month I've been recording games of prospects I want to study up on so at least I have something to watch.
Have you gotten to any Saddiq Bey yet?

Have you gotten to any Saddiq Bey yet?
Yes! I still have 3 games of his to watch but I've seen 2 full games so far.

His shot mechanics look a lot like Wes Matthews to me. Maybe a little flat but good form overall. He even shows flashes of a bit of a post up game. I've been left wanting to see him be more aggressive as he can pull up off the dribble but that wouldn't be a huge issue if he plays off the ball in the NBA.

Not the quickest laterally for a wing on defense, although not too bad either, but seems to make up for it with good awareness. He definitely has 3&D potential.

I just went back and read your analysis earlier in this thread. Mostly feel the same way. The quick release is spot on.

I've been watching highlights of Aaron Nesmith since he's hurt and wasn't playing. His main knock for me is his shot is super slow to develop but it's absolute money when he gets it off. I'm starting to really like him though and seems similar to Saddiq on a lot of things, at least offensively.

I watched the Washington vs Arizona game yesterday.

Hard pass from me on Nico Mannion, Josh Green, and Zeke Nnaji from Arizona. I just don't see anything that makes me believe they'd excel on the next level.

Jaden McDaniels obviously has a huge ceiling but he makes Anfernee Simons' arms and legs look big. He's probably worth taking a chance on in the teens by some team but he also has huge bust potential to me. He's not really great at anything either other than maybe blocking shots. I obviously love his 7' wingspan and see his appeal I just don't know if I would take him where the Blazers are picking.

Isaiah Stewart has an NBA ready body and decent skills to match. I wish he was a little taller so he could be more of a center but his 7'4" wingspan makes up for it. I have a feeling he is going to struggle a bit when he gets to the NBA and is no longer the most physically imposing player on the floor every night. I think he'll be a solid energy big at the next level. I wouldn't be mad if the Blazers took him but there will be other players I like better in their range.

I keep waiting for Saddiq Bey to shoot the "three arrow" after he knocks down the three like Wes does.

On a side note, it's super depressing watching these games knowing that they're basically meaningless and none of these players will have a chance to become the darling of the NCAA tournament.

Like would Obi Toppin have been able to get Dayton to the Final Four?

Nesmith isn't the same level passer or ball handler. Very weak left hand.

Likely worse defensively as well. IQ as a team defender is pretty rough.
