Mick is a Zags fan. Of course he will root for Chet. But, Chet looks like he will be fine. Even if he is skinny. Still has some.question marks for me but i always preferred Paolo.
Yeah Paolo was my pick too

Who u got as the best player in this draft 3 years from now? For me it's paolo

I like Paolo a lot. I probably would have taken him if I were GM with the #1 pick. But I also think Holmgren can change a game with just his defense.

I wanted us to draft Daniels where we were at but I’m okay with seeing if Sharpe becomes what he’s capable of.

I like Smith a lot at first but the more I watched him the more he seems like hype.

If chet could add some weight, he'll be fine

Here's food for thought.

We can just say they are Sabonis and Grant reincarnated.

Idk why, but I’ve been thinking about it a lot…and those SL championship rings are extremely corny…

In fact, I think it’s so ridiculous that they might as well be made out of chocolate and covered with a decorative foil.

Is it supposed to make the players care and try? Don’t most of them have enough motivation with trying to make a roster spot in the league? Are people really going to start counting summer league championships?

Don’t get me wrong, I believe in SL —> NBA translation.

But a ring for summer league champs? Zzzzzzzzz

It's a nicer ring than Harry Glickman's ring was that just got auctioned for 30K. Weird?

I expect to see them sold on eBay almost immediately

I’m not sure about that.

Maybe it has a newer more modern appearance; but that 77 ring is retro and it’s an NBA Championship ring, not a summer league championship ring.

30k for that ring is a steal.

1 of a kind… Glickmans ring from the Blazers first championship. 50 years from now that thing will be worth ~5x that price to the right buyer.

Somebody is vey happy right now. Congratulations to the winner, that’s an amazing piece for a collection of memorabilia.

I can’t wait to celebrate the greatest, most championship winning team in NBA history.

The Sacramento Kings Summer League Team

Who ever said that being a perpetually bad basketball team isn’t a good thing?!?

Really though, I do wonder who has the most SL Championships.

I feel like the NBA and the media just completely misunderstand summer league. It doesn't need to be some kind of three ring circus. We don't need a championship or a championship ring.

People that tune in want to watch their young guys developing. I wish they would lean into that more. I wish they'd put more energy into talent evaluation and coaching. I hate a lot of the fluff. I hate a lot of the interviews. I love when they talk to people who give perspective on talent evaluation.

Yeah, the interviews are too long and we really don't need to see their faces. Stop with the split screens while the game is on.

It's just so strange to me that the media/NBA don't think people are tuning in for the basketball. Instead you have the bozo play by play guy who isn't even paying attention to the game. Do they really think they're getting people who are flicking through the channels and happen to stop on the game?

Just for starters you are not anywhere near an average fan. I do get it though. I understand where you're coming from but I'm not really the average fan either. I can come on this site and sit here for hours talking Blazer basketball in July. Not many people are anywhere near that tuned in. Here's the kicker. I'm like half as knowledgeable as you are. Even less most likely. I start talking about trades and summer league to most of the people i know and most don't have a clue who Shaedon Sharp is? They know Damian Lillard and many know Nurkic but most don't know who Jerami Grant or Josh Hart are? They could not tell you the most likely starting 5 this coming fall. No idea at all.

I agree, but do you think those people are tuning into summer league?

Good grief if this is true.... Just another example of this being a stupid circus.

4 PFs at the top of the draft who are just different. It’s a good class.

After watching some Summer League … yes, it’s Summer League … the execs and scouts look pretty competent. Banchero is better, now, and has a high floor. Holmgren needs 20 lbs and core strength — minimum — but the skills are there; he’s a unique project. OKC is aiming high and good for them. Smith has work to do on his game to maximize his stroke, but Rashard Lewis comps are too low if he puts in the work. And Keenan Murray has work on his handles and first step and … to make his all around skills come together … he seems like an Al Horford, low drama, baller.

I realize fans have their favorites. Murray being the best of the 4 is a serious stretch, but his floor looks good; he may be my favorite despite not being the best. The other 3? All can hit as excellent players. I just don’t know.

Blazers Related: Jabari Walker. Pick 57? One away from the NBA’s version of Mr. Irrelevant? Undrafted isn’t better, but what the hell? He could be good. Long career good. And I look forward to the next game to see how much Alexander plays … otherwise known as #42.

Good point. What I think is the NBA wants them to start so they are adding the personal connection type frilly stuff. It was so evident showing momma in the stands and such. Kind of turning into Americas Got Talent with the tear jerker background stories.

Here's something. The Blazers - Knicks game tonight. Celebrity refereeing?

Got to wonder if he isn't pretty good? Probably better than what we have been seeing?

There's the international aspect of the summer league that can be a topic of side-entertainment too. The Australian ABL people are saying "play well, but not too well."

Well, the announcers keep literally getting the teams wrong, so you're on point.
One of the people even started to mis-pronounce "Las Vegas" and corrected herself. Are they all tired from staying up/drunk /both?
