iirc, the last time the ASG was in Houston, the judges sucked shit too.

btw, Blake Griffin really needs to learn how to whisper.

whats with these guys always fidgeting back and forth during interviews?

why do people think LeBron's dunks would be any better?

Those were some fun dunks.

Not really. the dunks he's done are dunks that have been done.

So are the ones in the contest.. Three of the dunks from this contest I had seen before from LeBron in warmups. LeBron would be much more likely to do something new or more impressive. Just like how Jordan and Wilkins were.

I doubt it. it's not like he's an exciting creative dunker.

I just got a call from my dad, who was bitching about the event. I kept having to remind him it's not geared towards 70 something year old men, who seem to think that the 1980's were the best era for NBA basketball and the Memorial Coliseum was the best arena.

Barkley got cut off because David Stern didn't like what he was saying about the NBA and Dunk Contest.

no penalization for taking 90 dunks?

I was thinking the same thing. Remember when everyone was laughing at Chris Andersen a few years back for having all of those attempts?

Decent night overall. Highlight of it was of course Lillard winning the skills competition. Hope to see him defend it next year and maybe even get invited to the 3 point contest too.

I think people confuse powerful and jumping high with being creative.

while it would be cool, I hope he makes the all star team next year.

Yeah, but with guards like Paul, Westbrook, Parker, etc it seems not likely unless he elevates his game to a whole other level.

Man I would so love it just for the experience. I would find anyway I can to get there. Just seems so unlikely. I always thought I read Portland wasnt a real possible destination because as (I think you) mentioned not a lot to do and I thought there wasn't very good Hotels or something like that. Plus the weather is a crapshoot. I know it is indoors, but still.

One of friends is at the events in HOU this year. He paid over $400 for tix to tonight's events, and says game tix are in the $1000 range. Not worth it.

I remember having the same problem when the All-Star game was in New Orleans. The tickets for these things tend to largely be purchased in packages by corporations. I've got a friend in Houston as well who was saying they want $500 bucks for nosebleeds... yeah, nosebleeds. I'd rather pay that sort of money to see a couple of actual NBA games.

Lillard IS "etc" and that's 4 guards who will make the team next year.

...so far, J. Evans signing a huge oil panting of himself performing the dunk he just made flaying over the top of it as if it was an instant photograph is probably one of the most "creative" dunks that I have ever seen [especially if he painted it himself, did they confirm this?]

Who would you say is a more "creative" dunker than LeBron?

Vince Carter was, Ross is, the guy who won it last year was, lots of players were.

but provide a link showing that LeBron is such a fantastic dunker.

I bet a big reason why he's never done it is because he wouldn't be that impressive.

That's just ridiculous. Terrence Ross is not a better dunker than LeBron in any way. Do you really think LeBron couldn't do every dunk Ross did? Not only could he, they'd all be better.

based on what? that he can jump high and is strong?

where is the evidence that he's super creative?

jumping high and being strong does not a creative dunker make.

There's no evidence Ross is super creative either. How many of the dunks you saw yesterday would you consider creative? For me, it's none.
