The team USA roster is filled with solid role players. No stars, but still could make a good run.

I like the defensive capability that the team seems to have. There's good shooting on the team. A lot of up and coming big time talent and then a lot of blue collar types.

How could Banchero get any better? Didn't he just win ROTY? Makes zero sense. Everyone already knows he's great. come one vegas. use your head

According to BetOnline.ag, the way-too-early list of favorites for the 2023/24 Most Improved Player award is as follows:

I wonder....has one team ever had both MIP and ROY the same season?

You’re good enough to win if you play as a team. However I think you’re vulnerable if you play as individuals like some previous US teams.

Ant Edwards is a star in the making. I also think that people are sleeping on how good JJJ is as a defensive anchor. Add the fact that Brunson is a real PG and the team is so deep that Haliburton is a backup PG - and I think that team is a lot better than what people give it credit for.

Haliburton should start over Brunson, IMO; he's a superior defender and distributor, whereas Brunson would be better in the sparkplug-off-the-bench role.

Hunter/Griffin/picks? Looks like ATL would have to send out another contract (Okongwu?) to match Siakam incoming. Would this make sense?

Why would a rebuilding Raptors team that's sending out their only player who's older than about 27 be interested in Dame?
Send Dame to Philly and have the Raptors end up with Tyrese Maxey and you might have something.

Works for me. Doesn't really work for the CBA, but who cares about that.

That's a cheap price for Siakam.

Hunter -> Negative contract
Griffin -> Decent (not great) prospect
Patty Mills (salary filler required for a valid trade)
I guess it comes down to the number of picks...

I'd be willing to trade Simons + Little + Murray + picks for Siakam.

If Toronto were willing to wait until December 15th
I'd go with Grant + Simons <-> Siakam + Boucher

He wasn’t All NBA or even an All Star last season. He has a LOT of room to grow: Ja has won ROTY and MIP too.

Would probably keep Dame in pdx.
Yeah it would. And they would be in the mix. Maybe not top tier contenders due to the dominance of the Nuggets that is expected and the improvements Phoenix has made but they would be playing in the mix in my opinion. 4-6 seed?

Cheap if they can re-sign him......horrible if they can't.

Do you think Dame & Scoot would be good together?

Dame and Shae would work and Dame and Thybulle would work.

Dame and Scoot could work as well if Dame was ok with playing off the ball for 15v minutes a game. I think it would be good for him to try.
Defensively we don't know if it would work, but Scoot does have the strength and quickness to guard most backup SGs for 15 minutes a game.

This is all moot because I doubt he is coming back. This is just a threat so other teams will pony up

What improvements did Phoenix make? Eubanks? As a point guard, Beal is a downgrade from Chris Paul.

Thanks for posting this. The pump is the coolest!

Dame flat out said he didn't want anything to do with 19 year olds. Portland drafted two and a third, older rookie. Pretty sure he meant it. But hey, Miami drafted a rookie.
