They will have a full season of Durant. That is a huge Improvement. No Beal is not a downgrade from Paul. Chris Paul very seldom stays healthy at this point of his career. Beal is 29 and Paul is 37.
I actually like what Chris Paul brings. He did give 8+ assists last year but nobody looking at the Suns thinks Beal is a downgrade at this point. At the very least they are saying it's comparable due to the fact that Beal gives you 23+ points a game and 5 assists.
Most are also saying Vogel is a better fit to coach them.
Bottom line- They need to stay healthy. Vogel needs to get the right system in place. Ayton needs to show up. There were a number of rumors Monty simply didn't get along with Ayton and Chris Paul was a bit toxic on that team.
 
Yeah, I am not sure if CP3 lost any of his defensive ability last year. But before that, he was still pretty good.

But when you have KD and Booker I am not sure you need a traditional PG to run the offense. So Beal IMO is an upgrade on offense. I just think they will be mediocre on D, maybe even below that.

That is possible. Just don't think Paul was their defensive linchpin.

KD played many full seasons in Brooklyn and they went nowhere. KD has only won two playoff series since leaving the Warriors.

I get Greg Brown, he grew up in Texas and his family shows up to games. Cuban needs those ticket sales.

Three. The Nets lost two of them and barely won the other against the Wizards. He also scored 46 against Philly to end the season. Nets lost that one by 29.

Interesting thing about Cam Thomas -- the Nets were 29-18 last year when he played less than 10 minutes.

He never said a team could win with him as the go-to guy... just that he could get buckets.
 
When Cam Thomas had his amazing scoring burst, all I heard in Portland was he sucks and Ant is better.

Might want to edit out the D in that statement. There is a reason a natural scorer like him isn't getting hyped. He is absolutely garbage at defense and anything other than scoring.

Can’t expect Thomas to win with the crappy roster they put around him.
