He was amazing partly because we let him rope a dope himself.

That's true, but single coverage will do that. I think there's a very good chance we lose that series if Houston had re-signed Dragic instead of bringing in Lin.

But neither of those people are Howard... I was mostly saying Howard's a CTC guy.

Morey is an eel... err, a mediocre GM, because he wanted a Chinese-voted All Star instead of the better point guard.

The Owner wanted Lin and cussed out Morey over the phone when Lin had his Linsanity thing in New York. They both joked about it when the Rockets re-acquired Lin.

Also you guys are reading way too hard into a Howard quote. There is no meltdown or controversy here. If so, guys really liked Garcia as a teammate so I'm sure there is a bit of "Awww" about that but I doubt it's some locker room splintering thing. Really though, Howard is not always up for a interview. I've seen him in that kinda "I really don't feel like being asked questions mood..." you see players in sometimes a lot.

hey superbeard, is Houston for real?

I doubt he checks these forums enough to see this but it's worth a shot.

The better question is if the Hawks are for real.

Not sure one game is going to tell you if they are or not. Would you have asked this question when they blew out the Grizzlies? When GSW struggled to beat them with 5 of their players hurt? They are still 4th in the conference, one game behind you guys... It's just one regular season game, guys shot poorly, Harden apparently tweaked his hamstring but came back, and honestly they were not prepared for Atlanta. They seemed surprised that they had bigs that could hit the 3 and were always a move behind them.

Either way, everyone is expecting a trade so you'd have to judge the team then.

That was hilarious! I rarely go to other team's forums but my favorite was the Rockets fan saying..we're going to get raped by Portland...most of the others were angry about the officiating as if the Rockets don't get more calls than the Hawks. Thanks for the link..I enjoyed that

Well last night they did not get more calls than the Hawks. There were a bevy of just bad calls.

- A clear path foul on Harden, Harden fouled Carrol who was leaking out but did not have the ball.

-A Mysterious technical, but meh this is the NBA. Refs do this on occasion

Then there was the 4th qtr, where the Hawks received 14 fouls to the Rockets 5. I'm sure you guys have had nights like this, like that time the Lakers won that one season with some playoff implications? Or that Lakers/Kings series... It was just one of those bizarre quarters where every call went against one team and really helped the other team. Whether it was fixed/rigged/betting scandal that's for the person to interpret, but those calls did impact the game.

First there was a series of calls on Antec. All touch fouls that put the Rockets in the penalty like 3 mins into the qtr. Then as the game was 90-90 , Terry gets called for a travel that wasn't, Harden missed a drive, come back Horford misses a shot, Dwight then gets called for pushing a guy in the back after Terry drained a floater. As it was pointed out on the broadcast it doesn't even make sense since the guy Dwight was behind was moving forward to block Terry's shot. Then Millsap comes down and clearly travels to score...so yeah there was a sequence there when it felt like nothing went their way.

As for calls I feel like benefited the Rockets. Not many of those. There was this one time where Dmo is right inside the 3 point line, he literally passed it to himself in front of everyone (no one was around him) the refs just ignored it completely which was odd since it was so obvious.

All in all, the Rockets were just unprepared tonight. They let Atlanta stretch the floor and at times they had Dwight guarding the 3 point line. Took McHale the entire first half to realize what was going on.

Superbeard how do you feel about the Brewer trade?

Superbeard how do you feel about the Brewer trade?

It is meh. If it means we play Nick Johnson less than that's good as he just isn't ready (I give up hope that McHale is going to give Canaan any PT). It also meant getting rid of McHale's favorite player in Garcia who would seemingly hit one shot a week and was at best average on defense.

Rockets biggest problem is back up big, although I guess it will help if T.Jones comes back. Black just isn't good enough most nights.

The other biggest problem is that when Harden sits down their offense looks like garbage. That's why a lot of Rocket fans are clamoring for Dragic because the Rockets really only have one guy on the team that can create shots for himself and that's Harden who creates shot for himself and the entire team. We also really love Beverly because he's that guy that you can only enjoy if he's playing for your team but he's not much of a PG, he hits big shots and plays good defense but when it comes to him doing anything PG-like good luck. So it would be preferable to have him be a bench spark guy I think.

So Corey Brewer is nice to have another body, a experienced player what not...but I doubt he makes a big impact. It's a good trade though, Troy Daniels usually just came into the game and chucked up bricks and Morey probably has 1567 2nd round picks to play with tbh. He loves collecting those.

Talking about the Rockets in a negative light is like a bat signal, lol.

wait, SAC thinks that Deron deal is a good deal? I mean, as has been pointed out, Collison is about the same tier as Deron anymore, and adding in useful pieces just to add in pieces? There's gotta be something else coming from BKN.

The Kings also want Net's Plumlee included in the trade.

In the end, the Kings would be trading two key starters for one currently declining in performance and production in addition to a hefty two and a half years remaining on his contract.

That would be a bad trade for the Kings.

Disagree on a few points. It may be the case that Collison and Deron Williams are of a similar tier these days, but DERRICK Williams is nothing near a "key starter". He's Beasley II (albeit without the comedy value). And I've always thought that Thompson is the most "meh" player in the league. He could be replaced by just about anybody.

This is like the Rudy Gay trade for Sacto. They're trying to be Bob Whitsitt, picking up expensive "name" players on the cheap. But the only person being successful Bob Whitsitt these days is Dallas's GM.

(It might be that the best player involved in the whole trade would be Plumlee, which is probably why the trade isn't happening.)

Shit, that's sad about Gallinari. He's easily Gordon Hayward/Chandler Parsons quality if he's healthy, but I fear he's going the Brandon Roy route.

The Kings were doing well until the absence of Cousins for several games. They have the beginning of a solid core with Cousins, Gay, and Collison. The last thing that team needs to do is make a knee jerk reaction by trading Collison for Deron in hopes he'll return to his Jazz glory days. Keep that core together at least for another season.

Btw, the other key starter I was referring was Jason Thompson. He's part of that core helping them to a somewhat successful beginning to their season (until Cousins absence).

What if the plan is to bring back Deron and hire Jerry Sloan? Can you imagine Sloan with Boogie and Deron? He would probably pull his hair out.

Sloan has a cushy desk job in Utah that's like Phil Jackson's in NY. I don't see him ever coaching again. I expect DWill to be sparked by a change in scenery after a couple of less than stellar seasons. It's a better fit for him with Gay and Boogie than the Nets. Collison is going to benefit from playing in the East. He'll probably become and allstar pt guard there.

Grizz down 12. If they lose, we have the 2nd best record in the NBA.

So far, Jalen Rose and Isaiah Thomas ate crow. Waiting for Greg Anthony and Bill Simmons

I'm not sure that having the guy who killed the CBA, and ruined the Knicks franchise liking our guy is a good thing or not.

It's not his opinion making a statement. It's the fact that he was forced to publicly state he was wrong. You know these type of guys don't like admitting they are wrong.

Also, this makes Dame happy. He retweeted it
