It's weird how you say, "Don't have enough dogs". When has the NBA playoffs proven that a team with the deepest bench wins? We know the rarity of this. The true champions are ones with superstars that can lead their team to victory when times are tough. The clutch players I guess.

Now this doesn't mean that GS is out because I think Klay and Curry can be very clutch, but they haven't in the playoffs yet... <--- They can this season though.

So I'm sorry that I am not a 100% believer in their playoff success yet. I've seen many playoff games where the team that was soon dominant during the regular season, either lost in the first or second round to the more experienced half court team. And remember the Sonics had a 64 or something record, one of the best defenses in the league and a very deep bench, yet they lost in the first round to the Nuggets then the Lakers the next season.

When I say not enough dogs I mean not enough QUALITY players off the bench. If we had gotten Jeff Green my mindset would be different, if we get Afflalo, once again my mindset would lean towards a "we can win a 7 game series against the big boys" but right now with our bench pieces basically being Blake, Freeland-Leonard and Kaman that's not good for a playoff push.

PLease correct me if I'm wrong because I dont know where to find the stats but isn't Draymond green one of the best individual defenders in the league. And based simply on watching the games, he seems to be able to overcome the height difference he often faces by not letting bigs establish position and he is quick enough to deny or at least disrupt entry passes, though Aldridge seems to play more out of the high post so it would probably be bogut guarding him and, again, he is a great individual defender.

I don't think it matters who is on LA from any team. He will get his 22+ on them imo. Now will he go for 40+ twice again? Likely not.

Anthony Davis is probably the only person in the NBA capable of actually shutting LA down. Golbert could be there in a year or two.

Right, I don't think he will be shut down but I also don't think it appropriate to say that the Blazer will win a series because he is some unstoppable force. If Warriors and Blazers were to play, I'd be more worried about Lillard going for 40 or Mathews going for 20+. LA will get his, I just want to keep him off the offensive glass.

This team won a title. 3 players with double digit points and the rest less than 7 points per game. Not one player with over 5 assists per game. Only shaq had a player with over 50% from the field.

The key to their championship is having one player you can't stop playing 1 on 1 (shaq) and a closer (kobe). Then surround them with good defenders. Every team knew who the ball was going to, but they couldn't stop them. Why??? Because the players could dominate.

We have 2 players like this (Dame and Aldridge), better shooters, better scorers and better rebounders. As long as Dame and Aldridge are on this team, we have a shot to beat anyone.

I'm sorry but that example doesn't work for me, Shaq and Kobe were truly unstoppable when they were on their prime run. LA isn't even close to the impact player Shaq was and Lillard being as great as he is, is no prime Kobe.

Also the NBA is a lot different than it was 10+ years ago. We need that guy off the bench who can cut Dame/Wes/Batum some slack. Blake is good, I'm fine with him but we need a scorer.

And Dame and Aldridge have proven they can be unstoppable too. It will depend on which player shows up.

Just curious but has there been a game where both Dame and LMA both scored 35+ each? Not sure where to look up that stat.

The small example is exactly that... Just because you could be able to show millions of players that have short nba careers, doesn't prove that Jordan, Kobe or anyone else that had long NBA careers. And this most certainly doesn't support that Dame would have a short career being a highlight reel either.
Dame does not dunk for 38 minutes in a game...I'm not worried. I still believe it's a high risk style of play for Dame as well as anyone. Dame also doesn't play above the rim. Less impact when he comes down from a dunk. Lamarcus said that he wanted a Duncan-like career by playing smart and minimizing his risk of injury. Dirk and Karl Malone, ZBo, Horry, on and on played pretty healthy long careers by playing smart. I'd say Lamarcus will achieve that, not so sure about DHoward or Blake Griffin to cite a couple of examples. Both Kobe and MJ played the triangle which needs a superstar that dominates the ball. It's a different game. I prefer ball movement with 5 players that could lead the scoring any given night. MJ also took time off to play baseball and whiff at curve balls. So he didn't exactly play a marathon career.

What do you mean by a playoff push? Blazers will be in playoffs and will at least make it to the second round. Probably WCF.

Maybe I should've said deep playoff run.

You're seriously crazy if you think the team as is right now is going to the WCF. There would have to be a ton of stuff going right for us.

How do you know that when there's no stats against the warriors in the playoffs with Aldridge? How do WE know we're getting that aldridge? We can't assume that every playoff we're gonna get that from LA. That's just setting yourself up for disappointment.
How do you KNOW what you think?

We're better than the team that went to second round last year.

They have a better record against the west than we do, so we must really not be ready for the playoffs.
Rockets were 3-1 against us last year and 4-0 against Spurs. Nets were 4-0 against Heat. How did those teams do?

Umm...aren't the Warriors the #1 D in the league right now? I believe they were top 5 last year, too.

I don't get why people think they are still a run and gun, no defense team.
They let Dallas stomp all over them. We held Dallas to 87.

Yeah but the west is better than it was a year ago. Right now WE are the team that every other team wants to match up with I bet (out of the HCA teams). As much as we all hate the Rockets they have improved from what was a shitty offseason for their team... I was against a Brewer (thought he was a rich mans Barton) trade but man, he would look great in a Blazer uniform right about now...

Jordan needed two extended breaks during his career to make it that far.

Aldridge dominated Davis in New Orleans this season. Not even close.

You learn in the playoffs,. If you make it past the Thunder, that is.

Why would people want to match up with us? Our guys made it to second round last year. Warriors and Grizzlies and Rockets were early exits.
