Amen is getting a lot more opportunity than Scoot and Shae right now imo so yeah, Amen is absolutely producing well. Doesn't change the fact that he will never be a main option on offense the way Scoot projects to be. Just need to get him those minutes and clear pathway.

I just don't see Scoot as a main option

I do. He's the most efficient player on the Blazers.

what do you mean by efficient?

TS% is the best gauge of shooting efficiency

Robert Williams .679
Jabari Walker .586
Donovan Clingan .586
Deni Avdija .584
Deandre Ayton .583
Duop Reath .576
Toumani Camara .566
Anfernee Simons .559
Scoot Henderson .555
Shaedon Sharpe .553

the NBA average is around .578 and Scoot is well below that

there is also eFG% but it doesn't account for FT's:

Robert Williams .647
Deandre Ayton .573
Donovan Clingan .568
Jabari Walker .564
Duop Reath .551
Toumani Camara .542
Deni Avdija .527
Anfernee Simons .523
Shaedon Sharpe .521
Scoot Henderson .510

the NBA average is around .543

Efficiency is more than just shooting. He very often finds wide open shooters, who miss their shots. I want defense and playmaking from my pointguard.

That's the season? Comparing month 1 of the season to where Scoot is now isn't what I'd be doing but you do you. Look at PER, TS%, +/-, etc.

all PG's find open shooters who miss shots. Scoot isn't unique in that regard

but the discussion is about Scoot as the primary offensive option so shooting and scoring efficiency are certainly germane.

I'd agree about defense and playmaking. However, Scoot isn't an efficient playmaker yet. His assist/turnover ration is under 2.0 at 1.99. League average for PG's is around 2.5. Scoot ranks 198th in assist/turnover

I'm not comparing month 1 to now. I'm gauging by his entire season without cherry picking his best month.

I can understand that. It's pointless to look at a 21 year old's' total season numbers when we know he's getting significantly better. I'm talking where he's trending. It does no one any good to use Scoot's numbers from month 1 and say he can never be this or that when he's been showing it the past three months or so.

I remember when Blazers were 50 & 10 the year after the ship, when Bill went down. There wasn’t another team imo as good as Portland that year.
The Thunder are 53 & 11.

Yeah a two time Finals MVP, one time MVP, 14 time all nba selection, 15 time all star journeyman (it's one word).

Mercenary is a better word. Goes to contender to contender and finds championships he can win

ok....but you're giving Scoot a benefit of doubt you're not giving to Amen

and I'm not basing my view that Scoot won't be a lead offensive option on just the first month of the season. I'm basing it on 119 games and the type of player he is

Scoot has shown the ability to shoot outside of 15 feet. Amen has not. That's incredibly limiting if you're asking a guy to be a first or second offensive option.

I'm not arguing that Amen will ever be a 1st or 2nd option. I'm arguing that Scoot is very unlikely to be one, and if he is, the team won't be very good

Yes, we disagree on that. The last few months have given me reason to believe Scoot will be a primary offensive weapon.

If Scoot is our number 1 option we will never win. PGs should not be your best scoring option. Curry is the exception, not the rule

The only RULE is your best player had better be a super-duper star. Position is irrelevant.

I think you're missing the Point. There are only a limited number of super-duper stars.
