Can you explain this like I'm a dummy? The "aggregate minimums"
I stole this from one of the comments in the tweet.

Basically, the new CBA says you can’t throw in minimum contracts in order to match salaries to get a trade done. The Knicks paid their minimum guys $1 above the minimum making them technically not minimums, and were then able to add 3 of them to the trade to match salaries

Well I guess in the off-season they will amend the rule to say that you can’t pay players less than $250,000 above the minimum or something…?

Thing is, the rule exists specifically because there are salary cap exceptions allowing signing minimum contract players at any time, whereas to do what the Knicks did, I would assume they had to use (a small portion of) their MLE to sign those players. So I doubt the league office really has any problem with this, because it's not really circumventing the point of the rule.

It's kinda weird that Portland doesn't start their pre-season for a week.

Why do we have such a late start? If games start tomorrow you would think we would play our first game within a few days of tomorrow, but our first game isn't until the 11th? Odd to me.

I'm wondering who that cannot see this thread will be the first to start a "Around the Preseason Thread"?
I love it bro. Since I’m such a detriment to member’s enjoyment of the site right? You guys would be surprised how many threads I start that Sly or somebody recreate for that exact reason. HA!

To me, it is more odd that some teams are starting so soon. Only 3 days of practice before you play your first game?

Edit: I see it is Boston at Denver. That makes a little more sense with them both being veteran teams. But for a younger team, I would prefer more practice time first.

There are a plethora (that is the first time I’ve ever typed that word FAMS!) of reasons why some teams start sooner than others, but this game for example is in Abu Dabi.

I think the teams that start early have some sort of far away game or games in their schedule.

Laker game tomorrow night probably see Bronny on the court…..still can’t see them keeping him on their roster after opening night.

Only 2 of the games are in far away places (Dubai and Hawaii).

Boston and Denver were permitted to begin training camp a week earlier than the rest of the league.

True, but they're not the only ones starting a week earlier than the Blazers. Just seems like an odd Summer league schedule scenario.

Not sure what the above tweet The Bot shared means?
