Not really. In the regular season of the NBA this stuff happens all the time. The Warriors had a big game against the Thunder the night before.....not a huge surprise they were not mentally into it.

I agree. You have to take KD of course, but it doesn't look like they changed their game at all. The ball used to move very well, now there's a ton of KD hero-ball and dudes just standing around. I don't think they realized how important Bogut was for 2nd chance points either.

When they first got KD I said that anything that reduces the number of 3-point attempts by Curry/Klay is good in my book. They may have more weapons on the floor, but they can still only shoot one ball at a time, and I'd rather have KD shooting than Curry.

Durant's been shooting out of his mind though. I think that he'll regress a bit. Of course, the other 3 aren't shooting well but Klay shot horribly in the Olympics as well. He might be a sub 35% 3pt shooter this year.

Seen some rumors about Klay being unhappy at Warriors and them willing to trade him. I would not be surprised if it was true, his numbers this year have been abysmal and he cannot be too happy with 4th man role when he could easily be a go-to player at more than half of the league's teams. I don't know who would have the assets to trade for him. Philadelphia would love him but aside from Nerlens Noel (who Warriors could use a lot) and a couple of picks, there is no offer they could come up with, and they do not have a shooting guard to compensate for Warriors' loss here. Celtics have been looking for a star and they can send both shooting guard (Bradley), a big (Amir Johnson) and a few picks, which make them viable destination. Also seen Bucks linked, apparently with Jabari Parker and Middleton on offer, which would be kind of good for Warriors, if it wasn't for the fact that Middleton is out for long. Knicks would be an absolute perfect destination for him, big market with some old but decent talent, and he would immediately become their best player, but unless Warriors are willing to do this for several picks plus mid-tier shooting guard like Lee, this is a complete no go. Well, they could give them Porzingis which would actually be a great deal for Warriors, but I would not expect them to.

Funny situation that because lots of teams could use him, but not many have the ability to put up a trade offer. Actually we are the ones who could come up with by far the best package if we offered them CJ and a few of the role players that we have. Even if we offered Crabbe to replace him at SG and several other assets (say Aminu, Leonard and Davis), it would be a good offer for Warriors. Not sure we would be willing to replace CJ at this point though, seems pretty pointless.

I'm pretty sure CJ makes a lot more than klay.... like..... A LOT more once his new deal kicks in. So even if we wanted to deal CJ for Klay, I think it would have to be a three team deal.

Aye, makes no sense for Warriors. For them the best solution would be to trade him for someone cheaper than Thompson, a role player or two and draft picks. That's why Boston could perhaps come up with the best package centered around Bradley, one of their younger players and Brooklyn's pick. It would be also better for Warriors than dealing with Sixers because they may fear that sending a competent shooter and a good defensive player who will immediately become a leader there like Thompson would elevate Sixers to something more than awful team they look to be right now, especially next to Simmons and Embiid. However sending him to Boston does not affect the pick they would get in return because that is dependent on Brooklyn who are, and still will be for a long time, a bottom 5 team (probably bottom 1).

Would Boston do that? They've been eager to get that superstar for a while. Thompson will be a better scorer than Bradley, they have cap to do this (especially if they offload Amir Johnson who makes $10M) and they won't lose defensively if they replace Avery with Klay while gaining offensively.

Well, one team that could use him and have the assets are Utah. He's better than Hood but Warriors could replace him with Hood if Klay asked for a move, and they could also push Utah into giving them some valuable assets in return. They won't get Gobert because he will be a very high earner soon but they could get someone else, or involve third team to get the assets flying in. Thompson in this Utah team might make them contenders, a reliable scorer to compliment Gordon Hayward.

I don't think GSW has any interest in CJ. They basically had CJ when they ran a back court of Curry/Monta. It's clear they didn't like running a small, all-offense, no-defense back court. Even though CJ is the best player we could offer then (because we're NOT offering Dame), I think they'd actually prefer some of our players lower down the totem pole - Crabbe, Plumlee, Meyers, Davis. But it sounds like there are MANY teams that would be able to put together a much better package. BOS/Bradley or PHI/Noel&Picks both sound better than anything we could offer.

For the record, I REALLY hope nobody in the West gets Bradley...unless it's us.

I don't know, I think the best situation would be a young talent on a cheap contract, some role players, and a pick.

Phoenix or Utah.

The Suns aren't going to be a playoff team this year.

Phoenix could do Booker and Tyson Chandler.

Utah could do Rodney Hood/Joe Johnson (as soon as Joe is tradeable.)

I have been wanting Jabari for a while.... but it would probably cost CJ.

We just don't really have anyone else that is a young talent equal to Parker. Maybe Vonleh if he showed that he can contribute regularly, but they have Thon and Henson.

I don't think they really need to offer a SG in return: for now the Warriors can start Iggy or Livingston while they groom Patrick McCaw, whom I've heard several people say was a steal for them. Philly can give them Stauskas, who would probably get much more open looks for Golden State and might look decent. So: Okafor/Saric/Noel/Stauskas for Klay? Throw in a pick or two and that's a pretty great offer, especially as it would enable the Warriors to have cap space for when they have to sign Curry and Durant to ridiculous deals. Nothing we have can rival that. If we get Klay it would have to be down the road in FA if he has a soft spot for his youth:

Won't need to offer all of Okafor, Noel and Saric IMO, that would be overload. Besides Okafor would be bad fit for Warriors.

Parker was the #2 pick just two years ago. I don't think they'd give him up for anything short of another young star. That means CJ. Since they have Giannis at the point, they can run CJ at the two, and I think Parker/Monroe would work money wise, but right now he's a PPP so it's basically impossible to deal him.

My understanding, and I might be wrong, is that we would have to deal CJ to Milwaukee for Parker/Monroe, and then $18 million in salary to someone else without really getting anything in return. It's just not really possible. Would have to wait until next summer to deal CJ.

With that said, I don't think it's worth dealing CJ for Parker, and they wouldn't accept Crabbe. About the only player I would deal CJ for is Boogie.

They have too many bigs already and I bet you they would much rather keep Monroe on $16M for one more year than absorb the contract of Leonard for example. They will not give us Jabari, they tanked for a season in order to get him, they want him there.

I'm not so sure on that. From what I see, the Bucks really could use Meyer's outside shooting.

Sure, basketball-reference lists shooting percentages by distance. Dame is now up to .732 from 0 - 2 feet this year, compared to .546 for last year.

He's also attempting a more of his shots at the rim this year. Last year only 26% of his FGAs were within 0 - 2 feet. That's up to 36.6% this season. That works out to 7.36 shots at the rim per game this season vs. 5.12 shots at the rim per game last season.

So, both his volume and efficiency are up - and that's always an impressive accomplishment.

Come on, that's literally all he offers now and they have a better outside shooter in Teletovic. Their biggest gripe with Monroe is that he cannot defend, Leonard is even worse.
