That's a really good trade for Houston...

Anderson is a worse contract than Knight. Chriss has more potential than Melton. I wish we would have traded Turner and whatever for the same package....Knight can be a useful player.
Melton looked amazing in Summer League, and Chriss has been mediocre in his 3 years here. Melton is a well-rounded, two-way guard who showed this summer that he can knock down shots. Chriss? He's a hothead who has regressed his entire career.

Knight is inefficient and a horrible defender and that was before his ACL tear. He's the worst player in this deal IMO.

Not a good deal for Houston.

Great trade for Pheonix. Melton is gonna be legit. Night be their starting PG next year, and PHX I'd a great situation. That Melton/Okobo PG rotation is gonna be fun!

Houston didn't get better either.

Rockets finally ditched Anderson, damn. Suns gonna start Booker at PG? Suns have Okobo, Harrison, Daniels, and Canaan already. Now Melton. What a crowd

Harrison and Canaan are meaningless. Daniels isn't a PG. Okobo and Melton should each see 15-20mpg.

Their rotation should look something like this:
Booker (16) / Okobo (16) / Melton (16)
Bridges (28) / Booker (20)
Warren (20) / Ariza (28)
Anderson (20) / Bender (8) / Warren (8) / Williams (12)
Ayton (32) / Bender (16)

I heard the suns were high on Harrison. You think Okobo starts?

Williams at PF? Hes gone. Jackson? Holmes? Reed? Harrison, Daniels

Booker (18) / Okobo (15) / Melton (15)
Jackson (30) / Booker (18)
Ariza (24) / Bridges (20) / Jackson (4)
Anderson (20) / Warren (23) / Bender (5) /
Ayton (33) / Bender (15)

LOL. And we still have Turner and that other guy who is overpaid that shall not be named.

So Houston trades an "untradable" contract and a guy who was the 46th pick in the draft for a 20 year old PF who almost average and a 25 year old pg who can back up Paul.

They get rid of 20.4 this year and 21.2 next year

Shed about 3 mm off their salary

Melton looked good in summer league, but it's still summer league. A league that highlights guard play.

Booker (18) / Okobo (15) / Melton (15)
Jackson (30) / Booker (18)
Ariza (24) / Bridges (20) / Jackson (4)
Anderson (20) / Warren (23) / Bender (5) /
Ayton (33) / Bender (15)
That is such a boring roster when I see it in writing...

What a horrible take. Have you watched either Chriss or Melton? I completely disagree with you.

Bones knows his stuff. Great trade for Phoenix here.

I see that as a trade you will be able to judge 2-3 years down the line when you see what has come of Chriss and Melton a little better. Knight and Anderson are both not great, they are both overpaid however I reckon Houston will find more use for Knight than Anderson anyway.

Melton looked good in summer league and seems to have fixed his shot which could help him massively as that was the only true downside of his game in college. Chriss hasn’t been great in NBA but the level has been so much higher than anything Melton has ever faced and he hasn’t been terrible either.

Jackson can't play the 2... You think Ariza it's gonna get more minutes than Bridges?

For one year, perhaps.

Looking forward, if Okobo or Melton pan out, that (Okobo/Melton)/Booker/Bridges/Jackson/Ayton lineup could be special in a couple years.

I'd bring Ariza and Anderson off the bench as the "veteran presence". IMO they need to start:

Okobo or Melton
Booker
Bridges
Jackson
Ayton

agree... they are going to be the Philly of the West

Im thinking trade activity is going to pick up!
Blazers are working on a Block Buster as I type this.

What what???? You can reduce your contract????

WTF is this witchcraft????

Can Turner do this???
Apparently just the guaranteed amount. But re: Turner--why would he want to?

Hell, why did Ryan do it? I can see why the suns like it.

Houston too.
If it was necessary to make the trade happen, maybe he thought he'd get more looks in Phoenix than in Houston, considering Carmelo coming to town.
