We're just going to have a continuing of irresponsible behavior if they are just going to postpone games to play later on. The Rockets broke protocol on several levels. If you are going to be lax with enforcement, then they may as well just cancel the season now.
So what is your solution for the only legitimate source of revenue if your constantly not broadcasting games. We're going to see well over 100 games PPD, you can count on that, even if everyone follows the guidelines. If none of those game broadcast almost every team will miss out on their local TV money and the league will have to do a lot of finagling to get all of the national games necessary. Fine the teams that you can prove aren't enforcing the rules but you don't ruin the league over it.

What?!? That makes no sense and no owner would go for that. If the team isn't enforcing the COVID guidelines then they should get fined and have other penalties but plenty of players will test positive that do follow the guidelines, that's why those guidelines are called mitigating not stopping. Then there is the fact that those forfeited games can no longer be broadcast and therefore the league will not meet the contractual requirements with local and national TV deals, which is always their biggest source of income but now is like 90% of revenue. So again, I think that's a bad idea.
No win scenario, imho.

Safety over money.

If they can't do it properly, they shouldn't even have a season.

MY solution might not be appreciated by all, but I think the TV sponsors should say "if you have 15 roster spots and 2 2-way spots and still can't field a game with 8 players, then you probably don't deserve our $$$."

Not hearing anything, nor do I know anything......BUT.......I am planning on NOT coming into work Saturday. Fucked up man.....more lost income.

You know what... I totally agree. I am such a huge sports fan but I'm absolutely disgusted at the irresponsibility of the sports world right now. The fact is they aren't doing to much to endanger their players but for every outbreak on a team, you have to think they spread it to others in their community and eventually that spread that started with an athlete that didn't have to be playing a contact sport because it's a fucking sport, will result in a death or deaths. Are sports really worth that? The answer is an easy no.

That being said, the league obviously doesn't give a shit about doing the ethical thing so they're going to make sure every or at least the majority of teams get those 72 games in because for them it's obviously about the money over safety.

Weird seeing him in a Clippers uni. Still the best 4th or 5th option in the league.

No he's not. He's not better than the 4th or 5th option on the Blazers, let alone the rest of the league. Guy is done.

This is a very interesting response knowing what i have read what you have posted up to this point concerning Covid-19.

Why?

I thought the Bubble was a bad idea and thought they should have canceled the season in March.

Because he's the only one that broke the league's COVID protocol of not going out to clubs.

And probably gave everyone Covid because of it

Math nerd alert........ what is 50,000k to him? Would that be like a $2 fine for us?

I googled average salary in USA and google said round about 50k. So the math is:

Harden salary = 41 million, 50k = X
50k*100/41.000.000
X=0.12%

Average salary = 50k=100%, 0.12% = X
50k*0.12/100 = 60$

It would be like a 60$ fine for a average guy like you or me

Tatum is such a gangster. Just hit the game winner off the glass unless the Bucks do something crazier with .4 seconds remaining. That guy really is great and he's only 22.

And don't forget his 13 year/200million contract with adidas.

Switched to a GOOD game: Sacramento vs. Denver. Tyrese Haliburton just hit two HUGE threes in crunch time. MAN I wish we'd've tried to get him.

Harden's $50k fine is significant despite its insignificance relative to his overall income, being, I believe, the most the NBA can fine a player without him being eligible for arbitration.
