Outstanding research bro. and YES, this SHOULD be happening. We are missing 3 starters and have the worst coach and defense in the league. So did you expect anything different?

We are playing better WITHOUT those injured players. :dunno:

But our main weaknesses are the same. With or without CJ and Nurk.

I wonder if we would win it if they had THREE STARTERS out?
Not sure how that works, might want to ask those dudes that were saying we couldn't use that as an excuse..... and on a side note, I was talking WE as in the Lakers.

So we are better a better team that will go further this season WITHOUT CJ and Nurk........ is that your opinion?

On paper we should be a better team with CJ and Nurk, but RoCo, Simons, and Melo were playing worse with CJ and Nurk. So what do you think?

What specifically do you think Nurk and CJ were doing to cause those 3 to not play well? Seems one could be unrelated to the other.

I think a season is a marathon and there are highs and lows. Just like basketball itself is a game of runs. Roco, is new, there was no chemistry. CJ out means more minutes for Ant. Melo has had MANY great games WITH and a bunch of shitty ones WITHOUT those guys.
We are NOT a better team with CJ and Nurk out injured.

Great. How do you propose we punish the players? Trade them? Put them in time out?
Apply a bit of blame to them every now and then. When you hear Stott's screaming at Dame to close out on an opposing player shooting a 3 and he doesn't, blame Dame. When Kanter or Nurk don't show on a pic n roll and the opposing guard drill a wide open 3, call THEM out. IT JUST ISN'T STOTTS ALL THE TIME! That's all I'm saying. If he doesn't mix things up or makes some bad substitutions, sure it's on him! But it just gets so fucking old EVERYDAY to read on here how it's JUST the coach!

So prove me wrong. I have been making the same arguments since the start of the season.
I have been listening to these very same arguments about these very same issues for a quarter of a century through 8 different GMs and 7 different coaches with players that were really good people and players that were less than model citizens.
That comment wasn't about you. Try to understand. You do not hold a monopoly on the same phrases and statements people have made for literally decades.
When i am talking to or about you i will include you in the statement like i have done on this comment.

Not passing the ball. Well CJ anyway. Simons needed playing time to get out of his own head. If CJ hadn’t gone down I don’t think that happens. Nurk is really just a casualty of this conversation. I think we are probably a better team with Nurk but CJ is so selfish that I’m not sure Simons comes out of his funk.

They just won a championship. Do you think it's the same? And in their losses, were they completely bodied by their opponent?
These Lakers are not the same roster that won the championship. They rely on trash like Harrell and Schroeder now.

I have been making this argument from the beginning. You can go back and look. We're getting smoked by the good teams and we're beating the bad teams. That hasn't changed, with or without CJ/Nurk etc.
We didn’t get smoked by Sixers.

Your point was that the argument has changed.

The argument hasn't changed at all.

We are beating bad teams. We are getting blown out by good teams. The argument is the same.
We are also blowing out good teams.

8-5 w/CJ & Nurk. 8-5 without. But Nurk was coming on strong when he got hurt. I think we’re 18-8 now if they had stayed healthy. CJ was best shooting guard in NBA when he went down. 6th in PER in the whole NBA.

What the FUCK are you talking about? CJ was getting 5 assists per game and only turning it over once before he went down. CJ’s playmaking was All-NBA level.

lol right. Because assists = playmaking.

and next you’re gonna tell me that Westbrook is the best point guard ever because he averaged a triple double.

Assists can be a hollow stat. CJ still looks for his own shot first, second and third before passing to someone else.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. And for as much as we hate him, Westbrook led a team to the NBA Finals and won MVP so he’s not nothing. CJ’s playmaking was great this season.

Westbrook didn’t lead anyone anywhere. That was Durants team. The thunder never made it past the first round after Durant left.

who would you rather have at your point guard position Dame or CJ? And if you think CJ runs the point like Dame, I disagree with you. Completely.

The Jazz play the Nets next - and Durant will be out for that one. They have a great record, but they've also had some very nice breaks.
Nets play the Suns tonight. Looks like the Nets won't even play the Jazz on their Western road trip. Stinks.....

I think it's more about responsibility, imho. With CJ, Simons shoots when the offense hands him an open shot. Without CJ, Simons has been forced to be more aggressive. That's what I took from Nate's comment, anyway.

SSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhh, don't tell @hoopsjock
