Devin Booker, Saddiq Bey Named Western And Eastern Conference Player Of the Week

Devin Booker and Saddiq Bey were named the Western and Eastern Conference Player of the Week by the NBA.

Booker averaged 32.3 points, 5.3 assists, 5.0 rebounds for the Suns, who went 4-0 on the week.

Bey averaged 17.8 points and 5.5 rebounds 69.6% from three for the Pistons, who went 3-1.

Can't really argue. He averaged more points than Dame and they beat the Sixers and Bucks in that stretch, as well as Cleveland and Orlando.

LOL, yeah Saddiq has been really good lately! Although he did struggle pretty bad earlier in the year. If he was a Blazer though I doubt he'd even get many minutes.

Nate won't see this but Wizard Mentor's post was about Saddiq, not Dame/Booker.

I was disappointed we traded our pick after watching the draft and seeing he would've been available at 16.

i really hope Roco can turn it around, because that trade could become a disaster.
I like RoCo but that trade is already a disaster as soon as the Rockets did the sign and trade. If we would have negotiated it we could have had Wood and still had our pick this year. Wood having the higher upside and already performing at a higher level. In a vacuum RoCo for Ariza and a couple of picks we wouldn't play for a while anyway isn't terrible but this is the real world, not a vacuum. I'm not mad RoCo is on the team, I'm mad that Neil dropped the ball on this or couldn't sell Wood on it.

Edit: For the record, RoCo is going to keep hitting his shots and he's going to be disruptive on D. He's a huge upgrade over Ariza just not as huge and cost us an extra draft pick and made our GM who should have already been fired look like a total idiot.

the addition of the 2021 pick is what really bugs me.

IDK??? Roco has won or had a hand in winning 4 games in crunch time this year with huge rebounds or stops or tipped balls. At this pace he will win them 12-15 games. That is a bunch.

Yeah, they made us look like absolute fools. If Neil preferred RoCo to Wood (IMO that would be a mistake just look at what they're doing and the fact that Wood is five years younger) then Neil should have known about the Wood trade and said, I think a three team deal that nets you Wood and us RoCo is the best we'll give you. He was made a fool of, it should cost him his job and he may have even known about it but sees Zach far too favorably and thought Wood would be redundant with Zach... which would be hilarious, Olshey worrying about redundancy.

Right, if you prefer RoCo, that's fine but do you think that he's worth a pick in this year's draft when looking at his numbers and production straight across from Wood's? I am happy to have RoCo for Ariza and picks but we don't live in a bubble and Houston took one of the two picks and Ariza and turned them into a player that you have to believe is as good as RoCo and would contribute to as many wins this season and then you'd have that players bird rights when he is 28. RoCo v Wood may be moot but we gave Houston a first round pick in a deep draft for that trade.

You mean the Bucks that are in the EAST and have the MVP and a healthy roster? Or Boston, with the next great coach sent from above and a healthy roster with young gems on the rise who also play in the EAST? We can all play that game. It ain't just the coach son. EVER!

Of course it is never just the coach. At the same time, if no matter who you have on your roster, your career coaching ranking is in the bottom half in defense, that would seem to be the scheme/attitude/culture of the coach. If you can't figure out how to handle a trap in 8+ years with arguabley a Top-3 PG over that time, that also might seem to be coach related.

Last 5 games the Blazers have been a top 10 defense in the league...not sure anyone has taken much notice but it's working..listened to Courtside with Nate Tibbetts this morning and it was a good interview
I said from day 1, that since there was essentially no training camp, an abbreviated preseason, and that we were putting in a new defensive system, that we wouldn't really know what's happening with the Blazers until after they'd played 20 games. Since the 20 game mark, we're 5-1, which is great.

If the Blazers have been playing top 10 defense in the last 6 games, that's even better. However, if we have, shouldn't our overall DRtg be better than 29th?

This shit is vicious. Yeah it's killed more people than cancer over the last three month but the thing no one is talking about beside Fauci every once in a while is the long haulers of all ages like Tatum seems to be and Bamba is. Fauci said that if people are still feeling it a few weeks after testing negative they will likely never get back to what they were because this thing attacks the lungs mostly but also the heart and brain, causing scar tissue that limits functionality. Fauci also said that it could take 5 to 7 years off of these people's lives.

Westbrook didn’t lead anyone anywhere. That was Durants team. The thunder never made it past the first round after Durant left.

who would you rather have at your point guard position Dame or CJ? And if you think CJ runs the point like Dame, I disagree with you. Completely.
We were talking about point guards. Westbrook was the point guard. And he was a huge reason for their success.

CJ is a SG but it should be noted CJ got a triple double when Dame was out before Dame did.

Again i just am not willing to pass judgement at this point. Sure a pick would be nice but there are ways to get another pick. My biggest hold on judgement is where they end up. If this team gels and they push into the second round strong or even the Conference finals again Olshey isn't going to look like a fool at all. If they happen to get healthy and push their way further he will look like a genius.
Saying he could have made a better move is always easy. We also were not in the conversations he had. We don't know what was offered and what was talked about. Bottom line the Blazers needed a couple defending wings and from the last 5 games it's starting to look like they have that combined with a couple up and coming guards that can score the ball. Get Nurk CJ and Collins back and this team is pretty darn solid.

listen to coach Nate....and it was over 5 games.....I take it at his word....I'm not really interested in stats...just thought it was an interesting take...I know for a fact we've stopped giving up 70 plus first halves over that stretch....how can Philly be ahead of a team defensively that just swept it? That just makes no sense unless the stat is reflecting all the games played up until now...Philly is second defensively on that chart and they lost to us twice

I hate that the guy that this forum basically had as the consensus perfect pick for the Blazers in this most recent draft is proving us right.
